Did Jindal and leg contribute to the woes? Yes. Mostly thru the poorly conceived/delivered entertainment industry incentives that cost the state an avg. of $516 million per year. That was just rectified midway in 2015 and should help the budget woes going forward. But, for about 6 years (X 516 million) it cost the state $3 billion. What's the current debt...$2.1 billion?
Tax incentives are GREAT and should be used by all govmint entities, from local to federal, but only when it results in a net gain in revenue. Now, why this was allowed to go for 6 years and no one seemed to know, or care, even though Sec of Treasury John Kennedy did scream about this on occasion, I can't say.
So, the misinformed blame Jindal....and yet all JBE has done so far is double down on everything everyone is screaming about that Jindal did! Jindal is gone! Aim your barbs at the guy who can fix things....if he's a mind to.
Now, not that anyone who suckles at the tits of guvmint will care, but Jindal did some great things for Louisiana in his first two years in office. Unfortunately, he then "checked out" and spent more time in Iowa and elsewhere and left the state on cruise control with effectively no one in charge. That is when the problems began to creep in. Strong leadership was needed to deal with the crappy obummer economy, the recession in the O&G industry, and other issues and Jindal was out of state. That, I do blame on Jindal.
