Went to the Route 33 Grill yesterday and had lunch. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger and Fries. I'm here to tell you, that was the best burger that I have eaten in a long time. The meat was cooked perfectly and the bacon was crispy. Kudos!

The Rhinehart's have had some good restaurants in the past, where is this Route 33 grill located.. obviously on hwy 33, but where at on it?

Did that last year when you they were passing out free LSU pocket schedules. Haven't been since, and won't go back.

Going North. Coming South it's on the right.

Thanks for clearing that up, Dawgmatic. I actually thought to myself as soon as I hit "submit" that I should have said the west side. I guess I meant left since I had earlier said ".....it's further north than I go on 33." So I was "heading north" when I said it was on the left.

I went there saturday with friends and family. Good food, and huge chicken fried steak!

Chicken fried steak? Now, you're talking! Who's got the best around in these parts (Ruston and surrounding area)?

I'd have to say them (Route 33) if you are talking about locally owned restaurants.

I take it you've been to Blue Light Cafe? I believe their chicken fried steak is good too, although I always get the pork chop.

That I couldn't tell you, as I went for lunch.

Told my co-workers about it, and most of them went there for lunch the other day and all said good things about it.

I think Route 33 Grill is open for lunch only. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I ate there after the baseball game last Saturday for the first time. It was open about 6 PM on Saturday evening. I had an really good grilled chicken sandwich.

Chuck and Karen are definitely back to their old ways at the Route 33 Grill. Try the Quesadillas and chips and salsa. Close your eyes and imagine you are back at the old Log Cabin. Also, if it hasn't already been posted. Blue Light is awesome, but if it is reall crowded, try Sweet Peas. Last I saw they were still open and it is pretty good. It is on Monroe just off California.
