DON'T think so. This check helps offset non-revenue sports losses and gives some cushion to the general fund transfer.
Re: Tech vs TAMU in Shreveport this fall
We haven't had A&M at our place since 96. We had K-State and Oklahaoma State in Lafayette over the past 3 years, but not A&M.
Re: Tech vs TAMU in Shreveport this fall
I do not want to play in Shreveport at all! However, I do have this errie feeling that Bruce & Dan will have us play aTm there in 2012 to prove to CUSA that Shreveport is part of our market. I would much rather play in Ruston a the Joe becuase no matter how much we play in Shreveport it doesn't feel like home at all.
Re: Tech vs TAMU in Shreveport this fall
Lets pack Independence Stadium and make it a "Home Game"!!!!!!!!!

At least be factual. That was in 1996. They've plated 3 times since, and all in College Station.
Re: Tech vs TAMU in Shreveport this fall
How is playing a (admittedly new) SEC team at a neutral location, making it basically a 0 and 1, supposed to impress CUSA? It would seem to do the opposite.

You should retitle the thread to "Rumor: Tech vs TAMU", you make it seems that it's set in stone.

How many current and potential CUSA members can claim they can pull in BCS schools for a home game? TAMU may not have been the cream of the crop of the BIG XII lately, but they are still a "name" school.
I know most here seemed to of hated them, but I loved the Miami, OSU, A&M, etc games in Shreveport. Tech wasn't on par with them at that time, but to me, you measure where you are and where you need to go by playing those type of teams.
Still would be nice to have these games in Ruston though.

I don't mind the game in Shreveport, but they need to clean up that area. It's ghetto.

Don't miss qoute me. I didn't say it would impress CUSA. If they are running to CUSA and telling them Shreveport is in our market and we play games from time to time there, then it would make sense for them to schedule a game from time to time there. This would be more along the lines of Bruce saying see I told you play in Shreveport and if the stadiom packed out then that would give him more to show.
For the record I am still against playing at Shreveport and I think it will not end well for us if we plan aTm there. I would much rather bring them to Ruston if we have to play them next year.

So our main problem (the fans) is we don't won't to play a game we will probably lose?

This is BB&B facts have little bearing on anything, look at this entire thread based off of an Aggie posting 3rd party info on their board....

But.......this 3rd party info "SUPPOSEDLY" came from one of our own........It has to be true! More than likely they have just been reading our board to get their information!!

We all know there were problems last time. The biggest problem being the opponent! If this happens lets force the addinistration to address the problems from last time and assure us things will be different.
I think the years of living under the era of "we can't" has worn off on a few of you.
The fastest way to increase our casual fan base is TO WIN, and I've said it once and I'm going to say it again: we have the best chance at winning, regardless of the opponent, when we play at Aillet Stadium. Playing "marquee" opponents in Shreveport has had NO long-term, meaningful impact on Tech. The reason we've never had a sell-out crowd at home is because we keep doing stupid crap like this.
Maybe we should make Q4E a fundraising promotion for upgrades to Indy Stadium, since that's where we play our "big" games. Small time...

The revenue is why we are scheduling the game. We need it to fund our athletics due to budget cuts.
