That is true. Everyone says, and by everyone I mean both staunch Repub and democrap supporters, that some person runs for office with actual good intentions, but after getting to DC finds out there is little to nothing he/she can do to change things. After a while they either put their idealistic notions on the shelf, join in, get rich!! or leave DC poorer than he/she went there.
We all say "we know this to be true," yet we continue to let it go on....with a shrug, hoping OUR crook throws us some crumbs along the way.
As much as I despise Bernie Sanders' political views, I am encouraged that he represents the left's foray into "Drain the Swamp." The Swamp needs to be attacked from both ends. Of course the Swamp represents the political middle. It has to, to survive. Naturally it would be the two wings....those furthest removed from the swampy middle....that would get fed up first and actually do something.
Those on the fringe of the swamp will be next. From the Right's point of view, those are the RINOs and those like 'em. Right now they can't see anyway out of this quagmire and "go along to get along." But, as momentum builds they can be saved from the "dark side." This is why, although I am hardly a Trumpite, I want to see him have success in office. The whole "drain the swamp" movement will be set back a decade if the swampsters and their willing allies and the "zombies" get their way.
