Our offense this year is more like what Mickey coached back in the late 60's and 70's, especially since we are using a TE now. It's not your typical spread where the QB throws a lot of short passes. Sokol can go down the field with it. He only threw 33 passes against Lafayette and 31 against North Texas. I like this offense better because it is so versatile. Would you call this "old school"? I wish Mickey was on here to comment about it. I bet he loves it. I also like to see the QB lining up under the center.
After watching Texas Tech today, I'm relieved Dykes and Co. moved on. This year's offense can put up points but it doesn't put as much pressure on the defense.
