Where is the nearest Chipotle from Ruston?
Probably Dallas. Theres none in Louisiana, Miss. or Arkansas.
Not a fan of Qdoba or Chipotle. If you are going to do a burrito joint, do it right. Cafe Rio. http://www.caferio.com/ Best burrito franchise, bar none.
Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”
A taco joint also works. Taqueria del Sol is tough to beat in this category. http://www.taqueriadelsol.com/

the best mexican/burrito joints are run-down hole in the wall mom and pop places.
honestly all chain mexican / burrito stuff is garbage
The best burritos are in the Mission District. Cafe Rio serves Mission-style burritos. May not be as good as those that you can get in the MD, but they are fantastic and nothing closely resembling garbage. Have you had it? I agree that Qdoba/Moe/Chipotle is no good. I am not really a fan of Freebirds, but it might be a touch better than the other mentioned chains on a good day. Kokopelli's in New Orleans was pretty good, but they had really interesting non-traditional burritos - like thai burritos and surf-n-turf burritos.

Moe's is horrible. I hated that place when I lived in BR. Thank goodness I moved to Houston, Mission Burrito is the bomb and is far better than Freebirds. It is just a local chain in Houston, though.
Chipotle's is just bad, it was started by a dude in Colorado for crying out loud and blew up with a McDonald's investment, it doesnt get any worse than that. Qdoba is better, but I dont know if it is anywhere close to Ruston. I liked Cool beans that was in Shreveport, but it didnt make it. People like chains for some reason, especially for fast foodish type places.
Assembly line burrito joints are all the same. Only thing that is different is the meat and probably the rice.
I generally stay away from chain restaurants. Whataburger is the only interstate fast food joint I could see doing really well in Ruston.
