The few hours I got to watch it in Germany, it wasn't much different than what it is here in the US. But it was much more catered to the area obviously, and Europe as a whole is a little more left despite the recent gains of the right.

Two men have been arrested in a plot to use machine guns and grenades in an attack on a military recruiting station in Seattle that also houses a daycare, the U.S. Justice Department said Thursday.
Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif, also known as Joseph Anthony Davis, of Seattle, and Walli Mujahidh, also known as Frederick Domingue Jr., of Los Angeles, were arrested Wednesday night.

Kentucky private had been AWOL after arrest in child porn investigation
An AWOL U.S. soldier facing a court-martial was charged with possession of illegal weapons and was under investigation for possibly plotting an attack on the U.S. military base at Fort Hood, Texas, police and military officials said Thursday.
Killeen, Texas, police arrested Pfc. Naser J. Abdo, 21, on Wednesday at a motel near Fort Hood, police said. The Austin Statesman-American reported that Abdo, who is from Garland, Texas, and was stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., was arrested at an America's Best Value Inn on South Fort Hood Road.
A U.S. military official said Abdo had been overheard saying he wanted to attack Fort Hood and that he repeated the statement after he was in custody. Authorities said it was not clear whether his alleged intended targets were soldiers in general or specific individuals on the base.

Abdo was approved for conscientious objector status last year after he argued that his Muslim beliefs prohibited military service. But his discharge was put on hold pending resolution of child pornography charges that were brought against him last year.
I didn't hear about it until I arrived in Albuquerque when the desk attendant at my hotel began asking me about Ft. Hood. I found this to be a bit disturbing (beyond the obvious) because some buddies and I were talking about this guy last week doing something stupid and I brought up something similar to this. It is always fun to have a cage-kicker... I mean Corrections Specialist around for these type of conversations. Leavenworth isn't going to be a good place with him if someone slips up and puts him with general population. I'm really interested in the path it takes to get there because unlike with Hasan, the FBI and Killeen PD and other local LEOs made the arrest, with minimal input and such from CID. I'm curious if this goes into the hands of the military or stays in the federal system. Preferably, it goes to military because then the death penalty will be on the table instead of letting him go off easy ala the asshole in Arkansas (reference: Shooter in US Soldier killing sentenced to life)
