You and dhi72 aren't paying attention. It was big news this past weekend in the DFW media. I saw it in the Dallas Morning News, and on TV.
Whether BB&Ber's like it or not, when it comes to this bowl game, we need to be "selling it" at all times. We need to be selling it to fans, recruits, and media outlets. If we really sold our ticket allotment, we'd be foolish to not produce a press release about it. That's just dumb.

1. I bought my ticketS at 9am Monday morning following the NMSU win. I was surprised the phone wasn't busy and I got right through and placed my order.
2. The fact that I simply asked if there was a confirmation that we sold out ticket allotment and I get a lot of ring-ding answers is ridiculous.
Yes or no? Do we have a confirmation that we sold our allotment? Link? Why all the pissy answers?
I don't think people are googling Tech ticket allotment (latching on to that clearly shows your intellect level), but if you or anyone else happened to be curious if we did sell our allotment and you googled it, you'll notice EVERY article that comes up is about TCU selling theirs and ordering more. I don't live in North Louisiana (or the South) but I was aware through the media that TCU sold their allotment and ordered more. I also heard a mention of it during the USL game. So again, wondering if we sold ours, I looked online and all I can find is 10-15 articles about TCU selling theirs.
I'm just surprised if we have sold our allotment, there isn't a release. People in sweatshirts with flags don't count in the totals...
Thanks HOGDOG for getting where I'm coming from... it was really a simple question and got a lot of jackass answers for no reason.

Note to self - only ask questions and expect intelligent answers around here after working hours... still haven't seen a link mentioning anything about our allotment. Would love to know -- sure would have made for a nice release before game day when it will just get lost in the story - not be the story.

I guess the red coats googled up the attendance numbers from the old Indy bowl before selecting Tech as well. It looks good now for stuff to be in the papers but I would think any future bowl would make a phone call or two for their research. Well, maybe not the NO bowl. Just my 2 cents.

The Make a Wish donations was genius and trumps all in my mind and is a great story. I'm always proud of Tech and NEVER surprised by our character.
Unfortunately, it reminds me how housing Tulane after Katrina did SQUAT for us getting any respect from CUSA... I imagine they're looking at traveling fan numbers... hoping to see nothing but BLUE tomorrow and a big win of those frogs.
And at the end of the day, what matters most is definitely our character and what we did do.
Real proud of Tech. Hope the turnout tomorrow is HUGE!Reply With Quote

Article out tonight says we have NOT sold our allotment.... what's the word on this? Obviously he interviewed the executive director of the bowl.
