We might could GROSS $700K and net $500K after expenses if we went with conventional methods that are presently in place....

I THINK we could get within $250K of what we would make in S'port if we went outside the box with some of the mini-ticket packages, hill-side seating, increased concessions, a stand alone BIG GAME sponsor, etal...

But remember who you are dealing with and who is calling the final shot - I think BVDV did his homework on this one, but DR took the bird in pocket (honestly, I'm kinda just thankful he didn't ship us out to College Station with the promise of a return game) atleast Bruce won that battle

My guess is about $400K. (about 2 times what we normally make)
We do a crappy job milking every dime out of the fans in JAS. Heavy G and the Inforcers WILL get every penny they can! Hell, what they don't get you to spend in the stadium they'll just take at gun point outside the stadium! LOL!

I'm sure the Ruston Chamber of Commerce is glad that they don't have to worry about all of those Aggie fans.

If it happens it is important for Tech because:
    - We need additional money to compete at the level you wish to compete,
    - The game will be nationally televised,
    - We need to develop far greater fan support in Shreveport,
    - If we want true respect we must play AQ opponents and play them well,
    - and, Finally, if Tech's base fan support will not travel 70 or so miles to Shreveport for a game against an SEC team, we do not deserve to move up the ladder.

    This is where I am.

I'd love to see A&M come to Ruston, but playing them in Shreveport is still our home game and one-for-ones are always good with the "big boys."

I was fairly concerned that we'd end up playing a third money game in College Station. That would have been pretty sorry. This is merely "less than ideal."

    Unfortunately money talks...

I'm sure DR would be willing to re-think his stance if the difference could be narrowed -

Isn't the Chambers sponsorship only vauled at $35K?

Yeah, conference championships are great, but there is a ceiling there. What good is winning the conference if you can't do anything else?

If you want to be at the top, you can't stay at the bottom. Right now, Tech is at the bottom and continually shoots itself in the foot in wanting to climb to the top. This deal continues that trend. Tech can't measure itself, though, without games against schools like TAMU. But, Tech already had that with Illinois and Virginia.
You are really stretching the context of my post.

OOC games are scheduled for wins, money, or exposure but not as a measuring stick.

But in our case the OOC games are scheduled for -

Money, money, money and maybe a win...

Unfortunately that is who we are and will remain until our season ticket base is over 10K

If we had a 10K to 15K season ticket base, I doubt that this would be an issue

So guys, for those of you with 'insider knowledge' - are you saying that we are cancelling the Lamar game and scheduling aTm in S'port and all we are waitung on is a press conference???? Why couldn't we have traded an away game for this mess?????

When is this all going to play out and when are they going to start the ticketing process???
