Some of you are talking about a BCS bowl by running the table with a weak schedule. If we can't beat A&M next year then we do not deserve a name bowl.
So lets not find out if we deserve it, lets just go.

You don't have to like it, but until we can make substantial money at home, Reneau is gonna do stuff like this. We trade a <17K crowd for a game in our second home against an SEC team...it's a one for one with an SEC team.
If our fans don't show up, we better be sending a courier to the Belt with our application cause we don't belong anywhere else.

I know I'm in the minority but I'm split on this.. I would rather play them in Ruston no doubt, but I don't mind playing a game in Shreveport now and then.. I really think the argument that it will be a split crowd in Shreveport is moot.. aggie fans aren't going to let another hour stop them from coming to a ballgame.. I'm will to play this game to replace Lamar bascially because I'm not a fan of playing FCS teams period.. you really gain nothing (it's a game you should win, period) and lose everything (what if they beat you or play you way to close?).. that is the only game I think we should consider replacing if this is going to happen though.. work for Ruston, but don't let playing it in Shreveport be a deal breaker

We have to schedule FCS teams if you ever want to have 6 home games a year
In years like 2011, we need an FCS opponent just to have 5 home games per season.
We don't get return games from Illinois, Virginia, etc.
We don't have to return games to FCS opponents.
FCS opponents balance out the money games on the road.
Boise State scheduled 1 money game in each of their first two seasons in the WAC, but Boise State only scheduled a total 2 guarantee games in their last 8 years in the WAC. They lost all 4 guarantee games they played in the WAC.
Didn't say it wasn't necessary.. just not a fan of it.. could we not get the same thing from scheduling 1v1 with other FBS schools from CUSA (which I still hope we're in) or the Mountain West though?

No. Home-and-home with C-USA or MWC schools do not balance out guarantee games. We'd still be looking at only 5 home games.
Does anybody know how much $$$$$$ we owe Lamar now?
