Go Dawgs!!!!!

Arbor day makes me want to go plant a tree.

After we are officially announced into C-USA, can this thread finally die? I think it should go down with the wac, as a symbol of us moving on to bigger and better things.

Just let the government decide on how to handle this thread... Bobby Jindal will cut it![]()

May Day
May 1st, 2012
May Day is sort of a catchall summer-loving holiday consisting of pagan, secular and Christian traditions. It also corresponds with labor holidays in many countries. The most popular way to celebrate May Day is by dancing around the May Pole, a tall, decorated pole set up in a field or town square. Don't have a May Pole nearby? Try substituting a flagpole, lamppost or goalpost. Passersby might wonder if you've gone mad, but shouting, 'summer is here!' while showing off your best dance moves should clear things up.

National Mother Goose Day
May 1st, 2012
Over the years there's been some speculation that Mother Goose was actually a real person, namely Mary Goose, the mother-in-law of a Boston publisher who collected together the little rhymes she sang to her grandchildren. While others have debated this, or brought forth other Mother Goose prospects, no one has yet to suggest Mother Goose was an actual goose. This is surprising as everyone knows waterfowl make fantastic children's book authors.

Page 2?!? It's offseason, what could push this thread to page 2?

National Truffle Day
May 2nd, 2012
Whether we're talking the delicate, tasty fungus or the rich chocolate treat, the word truffle means fancy and expensive. The truffle mushroom is tough to find, and harvesters rely on the help of trained pigs to sniff them out on the forest floor. Once procured, a little truffle goes a long way in gourmet cuisine, and it has a pungent, celebrated flavor. As for the chocolate truffle, it was first created in Chambery, France and is of a sphere of chocolate filled with ganache, caramel, cream, or other confectionary delight. But let's not waste any more time with truffle facts. Time to eat!

Scurvy Awareness Day
May 2nd, 2012
Just because you're a land lover doesn't mean you too can't develop this disease once common among pirates and sailors. If you don't get enough vitamin C you could wind up with spongy gums and spots on your skin. We know, gross. So make sure you get what pirates called 'yer daily glass of arrr-ange juice.'
