Tech XX has Passed Away?!

Not holding people accountable is one of the problems in American society. Dumbassery should have consequences. And when the results are this tragic, losing a part time job is not severe enough.

In my opinion, I think all involved are holding themselves very much accountable, and I don't know that any punishment meted out would cause them any more humiliation and pain than they are already putting themselves through. I can't harbor resentment toward the person who let Tech out unattended any more than I can to Dr. Sexton who created the environment for it to happen. I guarantee you they are both putting themselves through the ringer. I bet every time Dr. Sexton looks at his son, he gets heartbroken all over again knowing the pain he's feeling, and when he think of the Tech family, he hurts just as much. I know there are laws that might call for some type of prosecution, but in my opinion, intent has to be considered. This was a tragic event caused by careless mistakes. No one set out with the purpose of harming Tech.

"Scoot", the on-air personality this morning, is pretty outraged by the incident. He is pretty vocal about charges being filed for neglegence against this 'employee' and Sexton's practice. He has some pretty good points. It is a professional institution- one that's by it's nature should have kept this from happening. I feel bad for this ex-employee (who's probably a Tech or RHS student) and for Sexton, but this all looks pretty bad for them.

Do we know if Tech was paying the clinic for boarding? That could make it worse for Sexton.

And, Scoot does call him Tech XX, not LT.

If not, I don't give a rat's a__ about his outrage. As far as criminal charges being filed, I bet if the employee were Scoot's own son or daughter, he would change his tune.

If it is deemed that a criminal act has occurred, then absolutely charges should be filed. People's actions have to be accounted for.

He's a NOLA radio personality. I'd say he been on the air in some form another for 30+ years. Not just sports or politics. By no means a "shock jock". Scoot has been an integral part of the region's public dialogue for as long as I can remember.

On the one hand, I can see your point that he isnt qualified to discuss this situation. On the other hand, it's only his job to talk about stuff that will attract and hold listeners' attention.

I agree. Reneau needs to issue a bull setting up an inquisition. He should appoint you alguacil so you can detain each and every person who knew, should have known or could have or even might possibly have prevented this heretical killing of this sacred being. He can use Penn State as his precedent. As alguacil, you will be able to hold them with little or no food for at least a year before the trial, which will give you plenty of time to inflict whatever torture or pain you deem necessary to get the proper confessions from them. Of course, we need to give you complete secrecy in the detention and we need a secret trial, but once you have what you need, we need a public execution. I favor putting the "guilty" into a bovine carcass and slow rosting them until death. Now, that would be accountability.

Nor I, but this does give media for both Tech alumni and dog lovers that could be leveraged in acquiring the needed funds for securing our next mascot, securing donations for a climate controlled game day environment, and setting up a scholarship for a group of students to be the caretakers of Tech XXI.
