I agree. Reneau needs to issue a bull setting up an inquisition. He should appoint you alguacil so you can detain each and every person who knew, should have known or could have or even might possibly have prevented this heretical killing of this sacred being. He can use Penn State as his precedent. As alguacil, you will be able to hold them with little or no food for at least a year before the trial, which will give you plenty of time to inflict whatever torture or pain you deem necessary to get the proper confessions from them. Of course, we need to give you complete secrecy in the detention and we need a secret trial, but once you have what you need, we need a public execution. I favor putting the "guilty" into a bovine carcass and slow rosting them until death. Now, that would be accountability.

If Doc goes out of town, definitely don't leave our mascot up there with his part time employees. There is a good Tech family out there that could give our dog full time attention/care and take him to the vet when that is necessary.

    Oh really? Why are we one of two Tier One schools in the state of Louisiana? Why do we have the only Doctorate program in the world for Nano-systems Engineering Technologies? Why is Tech ranked #2 in the nation amongst academic institutions in terms of innovation productivity as measured by number of new inventions generated per research dollar expended, according to a 2008 report released by the Association of University Technology Managers? Louisiana Tech also ranked second nationally amongst academic institutions in terms of the rate of new spin-out or start-up companies. Just saying, do your research before you bash my school, which I happen to be an Honors student at.

Regardless of how you feel about anyone involved in this tragedy, it should be noted that our mascot should be treated as "royalty" (in pet terms), and should not be boarded in a vet clinic. If Doc goes out of town, definitely don't leave our mascot up there with his part time employees. There is a good Tech family out there that could give our dog full time attention/care and take him to the vet when that is necessary.

If the dumbass teenager (which everyone assumes is the case) did nothing to injure the dog, so be it. If lieing about what happened does not warrant charge, then so be it. If a police report was filed (which it should have been), then this is criminial action.

Wanting this to go away has nothing to do with it. In fact, Patrick being my friend has nothing to do with it. Patrick made a huge mistake. I'm certainly not defending that. His worker made a huge mistake. I'm not defending him either. There will be natural consequences.

However, there is no way that law enforcement should get involved in this. The event itself is a huge punishment. I would have hope that we would treat Patrick and his family with sympathy instead of condemnation. They are suffering emotionally more than anybody about this. People make mistakes. God knows I do.

People that lock babies in hot cars are probably sick about that mistake too. Teenage drunk drivers who injure or kill people are probably sick about their mistake. Does that make what they did ok? We should just let it go and take better precautions in the future?
