I have been wanting to read through the Harry Potter series forever.
Started Friday night and am over halfway through the 2nd one. (I'm a slow reader)
I agree about Lee Child but I can't put any of them down. Cussler was my hero until he started writing with his son. Now I find them unreadable but his other books were fantastic in my opinion. If you want a fun non-paint-by-numbers mystery writer, try Linwood Barclay. I picked up Inside Seal Team Six by Don Mann in the airport this weekend and its a fun little read. I was in the Tetons last week and read a little book about Glenn Exum who was a big time guide for the Grand Teton. Good stuff if you can find it.
Just finished a book by a Tech grad. Didn't even know he was a Bulldog until I looked him up today. Book was pretty good. I was a little distracted by the way all the characters seemed to be named after towns in Arkansas (except for the one named after the exit to Camp Harris).

loan policy, employee handbook, and security procedure for new job.
Read a little farther. Some of this book embarrassed me. My wife read the trilogy so I decided to see what all the hub bub was about. There are parts that made me blush. I was actually quite surprised my wife read the whole thing but she claims there is more to it than the sex, to which I said yeah that's like saying I read Playboy for the articles.
Broken Empire Series: Prince of Thorns, King of Thorns; good series, dark but a fun read.
For you outdoor types who like a good thriller based on a Wyoming game warden, I recommend the the Joe Pickett series of books by CJ Box. He is a very good writer and has won numerous literary awards. Currently reading Force of Nature by CJ Box. Good read.
Paterno by Jay Posnanski. Pretty good read so far and good insight into the life of the infamous coach.
Rereading Wheel of Time, on book 3 now
Working on The Crying of Lot 49, The Hiding Place, and Narcopolis.
Also been reading the autobiography of George Muller and a ton of Celebration of Discipline.
I tell myself that one day I'll re-read the 5 or 6 Wheel of Time books I own and then finish the series, but I just remember it bogging down and getting way too soap-operaish for my tastes. Maybe one of these days.
