Actually it is my peeve of the week...

So tired of listening to sports guys mispronounce Jordan ( Should be JERDAN) and call Auburn the War Eagles. Frank Hoffman will do it for the umpteenth time this weekend.

Talking head sports reporters who ask themselves questions...

"Does it bug me when a reporter does the the third person thing?"

    Yes it does!

People who ask themselves a question and then answer said question.

"Does it bother me? Yes. Does it make me want to slap the person? Of course."

TV interviewers make a statement, then follow with, "Talk about that." I know there's a question somewhere to be asked.

Some TV interviewers like Sean Hannity don't even end with a question or a "Talk about that." He just ends his statement to one of his guests, and the guest is probably thinking either "uh, yeah?" or "was that supposed to be a question?"

+1. Same about repost in general. Is it stupidity, laziness, or narcissism?

Just over anxious I think. Some folks never even look at page one titles before starting new threads.

Frank Hoffman again...Said "mute point" last night.

One more is this...another is a word. It is one word and it is not pronounced A nuther.

Just like we are not LATech (even though our media folks have changed our official hashtag to #WeAreLATech)

Maybe it's a ploy by our admin to get tv execs to think we are a large market Los Angeles team.

It could be to shorten the hashtag for Twitter, like #HowBoutThemDawgs became #HTBD. There's only 140 characters in each tweet, so even a few characters makes a difference.

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm 100% for shortening our academic and athletic brand to LaTech. I think we should ditch "Louisiana" in our academic and athletic branding altogether because it's too long and has a connotation to it. "Tech" is too local, and its meaning varies by location.

I think the new official hashtag (#WeAreLATech) hinders our brand in two ways:

    1. The capital "A" suggests people pronounce our name "L.A. Tech" as if we were Los Angeles Tech. Weekend sports anchors in Shreveport and Monroe are now referring to us as "L.A. Tech" thanks to the capital "A". Despite what our athletics department thinks, "LA" is not the abbreviation for Louisiana. It's the postal code. "La." is the correct abbreviation for Louisiana.

    2. We are Bulldogs! That's our best stadium chant. We don't say, "We are LATech."

I like #HBTD, but Georgia fans also use that same hashtag.

I think our SID should use two different hashtags:
    - #LaTech #WeAreBulldogs (for men's sports)
    - #LaTech #LadyTechsters (for women's sports)

That suggests that people pronounce our name "Lah" Tech instead of "L.A." Tech, and it helps build our "We are Bulldogs" brand. In addition, all of our athletics tweets will show up for anybody who searches the #LaTech hashtag.

Great story, but we got L.A. Tech'ed by our own student-athlete.

How much longer will we go with the capital "A"? It's not working.
