Re: Fight, Fight, Fight For Ole Red and Blue

The problem with the Band of Pride playing it, is that most folks will just stand up and clap...letting the band play, like they do today. We need to be encouraged to sing it acapella...and have the band come in when we finish singing it. Hey it took me a few times of singing it before I learned all the lyrics, but now, i sing it every time.

Usually about 6 people turn around and look at me like i'm a doofus for singing the fight song, as they feel the ability to clap in rhythm is sufficient support of the fight song. I think we should sing it and it be as loud as the WE ARE---BULLDOGS chant.

I just had to find the right song/video combination, Allgood.

We sing that song at the end of the game. You know, while arm in arm swaying and singing it after the alma mater

HARD TO BE HUMBLE!!! Who sticks around with the Band to sing Hard To Be Humble after every win. If you don't you really should. Learn the words and stick around. The Band plays it right after the Alma Mater after every win.

Did everyone notice the words and sing along last night? I did and was the only one anywhere around me singing, but that's probably because I read it on here and was looking for the words when they started playing it and knew we were "supposed" to sing along. Rest around me just clapped their lame clap if that. Maybe they need to be told to sing it and not just expect them to notice words, if they looked that direction, and start singing.

Same with Hard to Be Humble. Need words and to be urged to stay and join in. I always thought it was a band only thing. I've listened for years especially at mbb games and at a certain point have never figured out what they're singing.

If you sat next to the band alumni on the east side you would not be singing alone!

The key is we need to get the students on board. If they sing it in unison then the west side will catch on.

True. I'm right smack dab in the middle of some blue hairs in the west side, although I have more blue hair than I care to admit--it's just covered up. But I'm not ready to be one officially.

Smack dab in the middle of Section O, I belted it every time the band played it. The problem is, no one knows it!

We all sang along with the pregame fight song. There were a few others around us that sang too. I think we're on to something good here.

I was glad that in the fourth quarter, shortly after Wagon Wheel, they played Louisiana Saturday Night.

I think our Trace Adkins intro is a little too long and slow to build to the big finish and the Dawgs taking the field with the Band of Pride playing the fight song. Its close and a little skillful editing would make a great intro.

It is a tad long, but thats ok. It gives me chills. However, we DO need to coordinate. If Trace is still talking and the BOP is playing and the General is ringing in the troops, it sounds horrible. Who is in charge of this?
