But the HOD has a big 12 tie in too right? So the big 12 will not meet have a team in at least one of those bowls.

That is what I don't get. If Kansas state wins, there will be two big 12 teams in the bcs assuming NIU or Boise don't make the top 16. That would open up the HOD. Plus the Liberty Bowl. I would think we'd get one of those.

Big XII has 9 bowl eligible teams. 8 contracted bowls counting the Fiesta Bowl. HoD is pick number 8.
