I'd like to see holtz or the oc hire either Rattay or Kubik as QB coach. Either would do well recruiting Louisiana. Both were two of the most intelligent QB's we've seen here.

Would Chris Hatcher give up an FCS job to be an FBS OC?
I wonder. If we could get Shannon for DC and Hatcher for OC we'd be in business. Doubt we could get either. Have a feeling Holtz already has a good idea of who he wants to hire for both coordinator positions. He might be compiling lists of candidates for the position coaches though. For recruiting reasons I really hope he keeps Eggen. The man goes out and puts in work.
California officially announces the hires of Pierre Ingram (RB coach) and Mark Tommerdahl (Special teams, inside receivers coach) today.
Texas Tech has hired Kevin Curtis as their new CB coach as confirmed by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

wonder if this will be our new secondary coach. he was with Skip at ECU. He coached here from 02-03. What are the thoughts on him from people that remember 02-03? Was he any good here?
If I remember correctly he was co defensive coordinator with Tom Masella. One of JB3's Massachusets guys. I remember a lot of us not being too happy with Masella's defenses so they brought in Smith to be Co-DC with him. I think the defense got better under Smith but it was a long time ago. I try to forget the Bicknell era.
I want to say that Smith was one that we were sorry to see go.
We couldn't keep good DC's at Tech during Bicknell's watch and I attribute most of that to the administration. (I'll never forget losing Rose to Toledo.) I remember Smith did a decent job and the guy after him (Bates) who went to Northwestern. Dooley basically blasted our lack of vision and investment in the program which helped.
Anybody who trashes Bicknell does NOT understand the hands he was dealt.
