Do you think we could land this guy? I think he would be a great hire!
He was the head coach at Evangel in the late 90s, when they were winning 5A championships. He was once accused of sexual harrassment or assault (I can't remember which) and found not guilty.
I believe he coached at the college level as a head coach, but it was not a D-1A school. He should have a lot of connections to high school coaches, but as was mentioned above, some coaches will not like him because he ran the scores up on them during his time at Evangel.
Also turned out a slew of college level QB's and players a few that when on to have shots at the NFL. Dunn regularly attended TECH games.
Thanks,
I thought it was the Dennis Dunn of Texas State.
I hate threads that start out with no information.
He was the head coach of Evangel and brought them I believe 10 state Championships. He nearly won a state championship every year he was there. He is an offensive minded coach. He has put together some of the best highschool offenses I have ever seen. He is now at Louisiana College as their head coach.
He was at LA college for a while. I know he took over there in 2006 but not sure since then.
Well, obviously that's a different Dennis Dunn. The Dunn from Evangel was a good head coach, but Denny Duron was his QB developer and offensive play caller in those days. He also had Ronnie Alexander as his DC, and most of that staff ended up at Calvary. I do not know how much success Dunn had after he lost Duron and Alexander as his coordinators.
If we are talking about the Dunn from Texas State, then I do not know anything about him. But, his knowledge of Russia and Eastern Europe could be instrumental in international recruiting. :icon_wink:
Yeah, I would prefer Duron as a QB coach over Dunn as an anything coach. IMO, Duron is what made Evangel tic, Dunn just guided the ship.
Dunn was more of a motivator than anything. Doesn't call plays at lc. Helped with oline a few years back. That was what he played in college if I'm not mistaken.
From the Louisiana College athletics website where he is currently the head coach and has been there 7 seasons:
