Terry Bradshaw was on Mike and Mike this a.m.
Terry said he and Phil gonna be on Tonight Show this Friday.
TB said he'll ask Phil when he'll have TB on Duck Dynasty.
"I'll say, 'When you gonna have me on your show? You've used my name enough'."

Still has nothing to do with Tech. I regret those who feel they had to bash his character. Also, I hope I made it clear that I have no ill feelings or fault Phil for anything he's done in his past. My only point, which some on here seem to fail to grasp, is that it's only because of his fame, and not Christianity. that some on here don't hold him to the same standards we do as those who have let their affiliations with Tech die over the years for whatever reason. I swear, it seems like on this board defending one who just because he is a Christian is like pulling the race card. It's not about being a Christian or not being a Christian. Heck, how many posters that support other schools come on here and we're quick to start calling them names or bashing on them and their affiliations yet, as far as we know, they are as Christian as Phil Robertson and his family?
Look. Am I glad that Phil Robertson is a Tech alum? Heck yeah even though we haven't seen much benefit from it. I just think if we're going to celebrate good Christians with ties to Tech, then it needs to be those who have kept their ties strong like Dwayne, maddawg, you, TT, Chuck, and the list goes on. Look at all those who were so accustomed to driving up to the game venues an hour before kickoff, but willingly changed their lives to start arriving as early as 10 hours to start a tailgating tradition because they knew we needed to have those types of changes to help our program grow, and the list of changes made goes on and on. Those are the types of fans that need to be revered for their fanaticism. Not some celebrity who mentions playing for Tech and starting ahead of Terry Bradshaw to further his own ego.
Not while Green was in Asia, while the US was in Vietnam. Perhaps I should've said 'during the Nixon administration' or 'years before I was born.' Seems Green can't get 'forgiven' by some folks that have attitudes similar to some on here.
Lots of water cooler talk at my shop today about Tech, Robertson, and Bradshaw from this morning's mike and mike.
I actually don't disagree with your post. I do think that he has given TECH lots of positive exposure though because he did play there. I don't believe he cares about anything other than God, his family, and hunting- and I am not sure what order that is in. I applaud him and his success though as I do for all TECH people. Hopefully we will be able to benefit from his success in some way- even if it hasn't happened before. If I saw him cheering for lsu- then I would have a problem. I don't care who his kids cheer for- they didn't go to TECH.
Phil, through his lay ministry, has baptized hundreds of people. His family is a big deal. When I was in Washington people wanted to talk about them. He gets Tech's name out even though he does not do what many of us wish he would do. You guys can criticize him all you want. His life is counting for something way more important than ball games and I glad to be able to say he is a fellow alum of Tech.
Good old Memorial Gym
Well said 77.
I guarantee you that if the Robertsons suddenly donated a large sum of money to La Tech all these people criticizing him on this forum would suddenly become huge fans.
That just doesnt sit well with me.
I imagine TB will indoctrinate Phil this week in Los Angeles on needs at Tech. If not, somebody at Tech did not indocrtrinate TB on this opportunity.

I applaud him and admire him for that. I have a couple of questions, though. When you were in Washington, did the people want to talk about them because they knew you and Phil had a Tech connection or was it because they knew you were from Louisiana. I have people mention them all the time to me but not because they knew he went to Tech. Secondly, if he weren't so famous, would we still be having this conversation?
Nope. I wouldn't be a huge fan of his. I'd be very thankful for his contribution. I don't dislike the man now. I'm just saying he's not deserving of the exalted alumnus status that's been given him by some simply because of his fame. Heck, Karl Malone has done infinitely more for Tech than Phil Robertson, but yet he is vilified by some of the posters who think Phil can turn water into wine simply because Karl makes demands and behaves childlike when those demands aren't met. I wonder if Karl is a Christian?
