Q, if Populous is out, any idea what direction they are going to go for the design? Another RFP? If no one is working on design documents, this project won't be going anywhere for a while.

That is my post from a few months back with the information I learned first hand from the current Architect on the project Tim Brandon from Monroe. They hope to have documents out to bid in the next few months.

Thanks for the link. Silly me for thinking that this thread was only filled with "Day XXX - No new development." for 50+ pages. I'm not surprised that Populous went over budget. Then again, I'm not surprised that Tech was not able to raise the funds to meet the budget that they gave Populous. In the end, I'll be prepared for the scaled down version to be filled with red brick so that it matches the existing vernacular and I'll be prepared to be underwhelmed by the final product. Maybe we'll see updated renderings soon.

It was actually a pretty cool video to get people fired up for what they HOPE is upcoming. We have a series of drawings from Populous.....which from what we are told are no longer valid. When we do actually see what is going to be built, I hope they do something like this.....dirt being turned or not.

It's a pretty nice video, but until you start moving dirt, that's all it is.
