The truth is coming out? Have you watched the games? We can't run, we can't pass, we can't block, we can't hold onto the ball, we can't tackle. We are awful. It doesn't have jack crap to do with his not liking the town.

By the way, never knew a Tech coach that couldn't convince the locals that he likes the town. He must be saying some really stupid stuff.

Holtz will create a whole new class of budget issues if he remains in place. He talks a great game...his coaching leaves a LOT to be desired.

Bull. Jack Bicknell is sitting somewhere cursing Dan/Jim as he watches Holtz get worse results than he got against the easiest schedule Tech has had since 1988!

Here's one thing I haven't understood since the first game. Instead of hurrying up to the line of scrimmage and snapping the ball like we did last year, we stand there until the clock almost runs out and then snap the ball. Is Holtz doing this intentionally trying to keep the score down? I'd say we do it on at least 80% of the pays.

    Don it's his conservative nature.

He has never been agressive as a HC at any of his stops, especially on the offensive side of the ball

Not sure. There were quite a few times against Army we could have snapped and had a free play because they were substituting. It is conservatism for sure, but not sure how much of it has to do with a freshman QB and how much is how much this is a lack of appreciation of the advantage of tempo.
    Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”

Also, we did the meerkat thing when Dykes/Franklin were here more than not. The only time Holtz/Peterson don't do it is in the 2 minute offense.

Ryan Allen's first game as punter.

    40 yards
    40 yards
    32 yards
    21 yards

Don't you think you're being a little impatient?? In HD's screwed up world, Ryan Allen would have been benched.

HD has a difficult time keeping his facts straight. There was not a 24 yard punt in game 1. Apparently he is one who thinks avg yards per punt is only the best indicator of a good punter.

He did okay in his first two games. Could have been better, but none were returned which means he had good hangtime. HD, hang time gives the players more time to run down the field and is good. Hang time good HD.

    Not good vs. Tulane

    Very good vs. Kansas

Not good at all vs. Army

This is the second time tonight I've seen a reference to Holtz not liking Ruston. Where'd that come from? I hope its true....and he'll retire like NOW!

He may have looked good previously, but you'd have a hard time proving anything by his job performance at USF. They are way beyond pitiful!

I took a look at their 3 seasons under Holtz.

    Year 1: 8-5 (avg score: 24 - 20)
    Year 2: 5-7 (avg score: 29 - 23)
    Year 3: 3-9 (avg score: 21-27)

Notable wins: Notre Dame, Syracuse, Cincinnati, Miami, Clemson, Nevada

It looks like he fielded very competitive teams. He lost 4 games by more than 20 points and won 7 games by more than 20 points in his 3 years. Most of the games were very close.

I don't follow that program close enough to know what happened in year 3, but I have heard they got hit pretty hard with some injuries. I've heard he had to clean up some APR issues as well. But that's just hearsay.

    Re: Fire Holtz

    Excuses:
    -he got fired at USF
    -he doesn't like Ruston
-why doesn't he run our offense? (um, none of the elements from our gimmick offense remain)
-he calls conservative plays (mind you we have 2-3 returning starters from offense who are forced to re-learn football after Sonny D's just hurry up and throw it nonsense)
-we're so awful - we lost to Kansas (we've never beaten Kansas)
-we're so awful - we lost to Army (lost to 'em in 2008 too)
-the players don't show up with intensity (and we had a chance at the Orange Bowl but our team didn't show up vs. USU or SJSU either)

You're all a bunch of whiny cry baby fans -- talk about a meltdown.

Sad that our team is losing but disgusted at our fans who are turning on this team so quickly.

DGM... We will see what happens this week when we play another team that is virtually equivalent to us.

For the sake if our program, I hope you are right. But the results to date say otherwise.

Dykes/Franklin meerkatted when the clock stopped. And as we all know, if a play was successful there was about a 95% chance that the next play would be more of the same. Holtz/Peterson do the meerkat stuff all the friggin time and it gives the defense a long time to breathe and get into position. The only time we hurryup is when we are approaching halftime or we are several touchdowns behind our opponent. When we hurryup our offense gets better, just like it did when Dykes was here- but Holtz is too ignorant to learn this.
