Army a D? That game was a F to me.
I agree with that, but I would put an asterisk by the Tulane game. First half: B- Second half: F-
I'm still confused about Army. Post game interviews with the DC said they tried to make adjustments and the adjustments made things WORSE. I don't know what to think of that. Army getting 440 yards on BC made me feel a little better. Maybe they are just great at running the option?
NCSt - C
Lamar - C
Tulane - F
Kansas -B
Army - F
UTEP - D
But they put us in position for the score to be 21-7 instead of 9-7. Our players kind of imploded a couple of times. Dropping TD passes, jumping offsides, stepping out of bounds, missing FGs from the 11. We could have won with better execution. We didn't have a chance when Higgins came in. He actually gave Tulane more points than he gave Tech.
As someone who hasn't jumped on the fire Holtz bandwagon, I'd like to point out that there was a distinct character to this team tonight. They don't quit. And it may not be everything, but it's a start.
There should be a message board just for impatient fans with over-the-top expectations. Most of you and a bunch of Cal fans can join:

Regardless of coaching hire, this year's team was capable of winning one way and one way only: DIXON RUNNING. That's what we expected and that's what we got. This "oh we should have beat Kansas" nonsense I keep reading!
PS that win over Virginia last year... not so special.

Here's hoping we do go bowling and y'all can stfu.
Sonny Dykes is as good as Colby Cameron is as a QB. Sonny only had success at Tech when Colby was QB, but since we are poor little ole LA Tech, Cal bought the hype as Sonny being a great coach. Even though we are located in a very hot recruiting bed and that Dykes won with Dooley recruits, especially the OL since Dooley wanted more athletic lineman to run block.
Cal and Tech both lost a lot of players. I think Tech is #1 and Cal is #2 in lost starters. Their board reads a lot like this one.
Haha I knew this would be the reaction if we got a win. If it's true that we won this game because of Dixon and/or the team finally playing with some passion/heart that all of Holtz's ineptitude and incompetence would be forgotten. La de da de da...
Did HCSH coach a good game?
Based on the observations of most who saw the game - no he didn't.
This win is no reason to turn down the flame under Skip's seat.
