I say we tell the IBowl that we still think we are
We've got to find or develop a deep threat at WR if we want to win any of the last 3 games.
UTSA cannot be bowl-eligible unless there aren't at least 70 other bowl-eligible teams, and there will easily be more than 70 this year.
Lang's right. Kentucky and Arkansas are already eliminated from bowl consideration with Mississippi State, Tennessee, and possibly Florida on the outside looking in. There's a decent chance the SEC will only have 9 bowl eligible teams this year. Even if the SEC has 10 teams going to bowl games (including 2 BCS bids), the final choice will be between Shreveport and Birmingham. The SEC will send a team to Birmingham since ESPN owns that bowl game and the SEC HQ is in that city.
If the SEC can't put a team in the Birmingham Bowl this year, C-USA can provide a team as part of a secondary agreement with that bowl game.
Get ready for the ND talk.
IF we beat Rice then we will win the remaining two games....as we will be on a 3-0 win streak and full of confidence and...well just and!
However - realistically, nearly no chance of beating Rice in their back yard this year. The other two games are still up for grabs - should beat Tulsa (as long as we have some of the injured back in the pack) and UTSA we have a chance if we have something other than just pride to play for. A bowl chance and a 500 record mean something I hope.
Regarding going to I-bowl...I really hope we do not have to go back to that poisoned well; was rather hoping the LSPoo lot would end up there
3 reg season games to get all stirred up over - hope we get an extra one but not holding my breath.
And I believe it will be Senior night...read in the program TD (#22) family is able to be there as well...the game will be a big part of that night but so will the send off for Kendrick and Tyrone and what they have meant to the faithful these past couple of years will be as important. Maybe they can retire the #22? If not then I hope the next recipient wears it with the respect that it will deserve.
