"We suck, get better" is not what Saban was saying. Saying you suck to a player is never good motivation.

Coaches may do stuff like this to get the individual to open up and admit they are holding back so the whole team can heal together. We, on the other hand, do not help by splashing negative comments on the WWW. Opinions, fine, but to echo on and on and on doesn't accomplish any good thing. Wonder what was the source of the statements? Team meetings? Self critiques? BB&B (J/k)

Strength coaches don't help by tweeting out pics of ridiculous posters, worn out weight room equipment, etc., for the whole world to see and make fun of, especially right before signing day. If you want to point your finger at somebody, it should be at the genius who tweeted out the embarrassing pic. This guy isn't very bright. The folks at SB Nation are all over this.

Embrace the Suck is military slang meaning that when times are tough and you hate what you are doing (it sucks), you can either whine and quit or you can embrace it and become an ass-kicker.

If the strength coach doesn't tweet it, it stays in house. It wasn't like a recruit tweeted it. He should do what he has to do to motivate the players, but he doesn't have to share it with the world. That's all on Hester.

I'll let the players deal with the coach and the S&C guy. Naw, Hester ain't Damon. But, I do know this: You don't like the guy. . . .. I think.

I didn't care for his results last year, and he does kind of come across as a run-of-the-mill crossfit douchebag. It is good to hear about our improvements in powerlifting which provides a good foundation for S&C, but I hope he is developing the right balance of speed, strength and endurance for the offense we want to run and the offenses we will need to defend against. He certainly has an opportunity to win me over this year.
