Blinddog I agree on paper it looks close but it should have never fallen to where we are looking at transfers and next year class. Fine to have all that in line but who put us in that position over the last three years

There are some solid reasons to prefer a "straight" female coach over a "gay" one. With a lesbian coach there is a strong potential for tension between straight and lesbian players/coaches. Remember the implosion several ago of the really good ULM women's program? And, although many parents and players could care less about the coach's sexual orientation, a significant number of parents and potential recruits would be uncomfortable with a lesbian coach. If you had a daughter what would you prefer for her?

While I respect your opinion, that's not an issue to me. If Tech were to adopt this hiring practice across campus they would have to dismiss a good many professors as well. I just want whoever is the best candidate to lead the team to winning on the court and the classroom. If Leon Barmore wants to have a sex change and come back as Leona Barmore, hey, I'm all for it.

Traditional family values... its that easy. Players and their parents are less likely to send their daughter off to college to play for a lesbian coach, which equals Louisiana Tech losing out on potential players with high talent.
