    This thread is where you can discuss football related topics as well as other topics. It is a fun thread where you can read a joke from time to time without having to go to another forum. This thread can't be hijacked! If you want to change the topic...go for it!!! If you have a question about something.....maybe someone on here can answer it. We have our share of A holes that come on this thread too. So, if you are an A hole...you may fit right in! See post #5233 for top 10 reasons to post on this thread!!!

    DG it all has to do with 70TECHGRAD because this thread centers around him. There is no social value in this thread except to say that it is a distraction and a relief of our virtual day to day activities on this forum. It’s just merely a completely different line of thought or action…in other words a tangent whereby we can discuss something other than what the thread was intended. Here let me give you a better explanation:

    In geometry, the tangent line (or simply tangent) to a plane curve at a given point is the straight line that "just touches" the curve at that point. Informally, it is a line through a pair of infinitely close points on the curve. More precisely, a straight line is said to be a tangent of a curve y = f(x) at a point x = c on the curve if the line passes through the point (c, f(c)) on the curve and has slope f'(c) where f' is the derivative of f. A similar definition applies to space curves and curves in n-dimensional Euclidean space.

    As it passes through the point where the tangent line and the curve meet, called the point of tangency, the tangent line is "going in the same direction" as the curve, and is thus the best straight-line approximation to the curve at that point.

    Similarly, the tangent plane to a surface at a given point is the plane that "just touches" the surface at that point. The concept of a tangent is one of the most fundamental notions in differential geometry and has been extensively generalized.

    The word tangent comes from the Latin tangere, to touch...

    Therefore 70TECHGRAD touches all of us.

    I hope this clarified your question!

    Re: If you want a thread to die

    It is a thread that reflects where just about every other thread ends up (except for BTE), except it doesn't end, or hopefully drag on as a mine is bigger argument if you don't mind.

    Enjoy life, take a break from seriousness, laugh at yourself and us other idiots, or make a valid well thought out post. But try not be so judgmental. Let others be themselves. It is what makes America a great country (within). Ya gotta join in, not try to rule.

    So, what's on your mind? Some Louisiana Tech sport? Go with it.

    Lotsudo, Wha....?

    Love that math.

    My son learned this in his 9th grade geometry class last year. I know cause I tutor him on his homework every night, not because he particularly needs it, but because I enjoy solving the math problems so much. Sometimes, I'll impatiently do his math homework before he can get to it.

    Of course, being Plano and needing to be harder than necessary, they don't just give the points as a simple constant, ie (2,3) or (1,9). They have to weave algebra within the geometry. So, points and angles are almost always given as, pt=(x2-5x+6,x(x+1)) and angle=((x**2)-4) degrees.

    Very simple example:
    Angles A and B are complementary angles. Angle A=x**2-4x+5 and Angle B=-x+1. Solve for the angles.
    Angle A + B = 90. ==> (x**2+4x+41) + (-3x+43) = 90 ==> x**2+x+84=90 ==> x**2+x-6=0 ==> (x+3)(x-2)=0 ==> x=2,-3 ==> x=2 ==> A=57, B=37

    Of course, algebra is nothing more than finding the area within a rectangle.
    length = x+1, width = x+2 ==> area = (x+1)(x+2) ==> area=x**2+3x+2 ==> x**2+3x+(2-area)=0

    I'm still working on a way to combine Dr Pepper, bacon, & Capn Crunch into a single dish.

    Mash them all up and see if it works...just need to know how much of each to put in to suit your taste! Go for it! Sounds like an interesting combination. If you mix Kellogg's Corn Flakes and ice cream, it tastes like an ice cream cone.

    I've been experimenting with a thick piece (preemptive twss) of bacon coated in a crust of Cap'n Crunch crumbs. Once that's done, I'll drizzle a Dr Pepper reduction sauce over the whole thing. But getting the crumbs to adhere to the bacon has proven difficult.

    Combining the three flavors was my 8yo's idea a while back. One Saturday morning he abruptly declared (as 8yo's will often do) that those were the three best foods ever. When I agreed wholeheartedly, he suggested we find a way to prepare them all together.
