I disagree. What Isabella wrote is even stronger without the word lure. The money -- rumored to be $1.3 million per year, or about $700,000 more than he's making now -- was nothing compared to what he's got going on at Tech. Isabella was saying the chance to do something at Tech next year that hasn't been done in 30 years was way more important than an additional $700,000 in the short term.
Hell, if Mike does what we all hope to do, he could make that up in 2015-16 with his next contract if he's able to land one in the $2 million neighborhood. And taking Tech on a Sweet 16 or Elite 8 run should certainly be able to land him one of those gigs.
Mike doubled down on the 2014-15 Dunkin' Dawgs believing they are going to earn him even more money in the future. I, for one, sure hope he's right!

I'm not arguing his reasons for staying (I'm glad he did). The money was rumored to be $1.6 million a year. :icon_wink:
I increased mine in spite of the Horrable Job that Holtz did but mainly because I am optimistic about Coach White and Tommy Mc
It always amazes me how you guys can nitpick on anything everything.
Obviously, much more important that White stayed. And for that I'm ecstatic! But not happy Tyndall left. We need this conference to keep improving in MBB. I don't want to see CUSA take a hit.
Yep, and his stock would have dropped. He took the sweet deal when he could. White, on the other hand, has a fantastic roster for next year and his stock will continue to rise. I do wish he would stick around, we invest, and he makes us the Duke of the South (well, the other Duke of the South).![]()
