Okay, just googled cellophane. It is still used (especially for cigarette packaging) but also for food packaging. While the process for making it is messy (as in all cellulose/paper products) it is totally biodegradable as opposed to a lot of plastic.

Finally stopped.
When I was a kid...and it was raining like this with no lightning......we would put on our bathing suits and play out in the rain! There would be 8 or 9 of us.
