Bowl games for us that were hugely attended in a fun city, new facilities going up, NFL players that call themselves Cajuns forever, home games with 30k+ in attendance. Players see all of that and know what program is on the up tick and which one is falling behind. No players sitting on the fence are looking at the past 50 years. They are not going to worry about a loss to a state school as the defining point in the recruitment process. Im not even going to get into what the different cities offer. Unless they really, really like Applebys. Oh wait a minute. We have one too. There goes Rustons ace in the hole.

You are correct, in terms of in-state recruiting, this game is important. If La tech loses, the Cajuns would have beaten every D1 FBS school in Louisiana besides LSU A&M in a three year span. As in terms of the Cajun's goals this season, the La tech game is no different than any Sun Belt match up. The expectations are to beat every team on the schedule besides Boise St and Ole Miss. There is no doubt that HUD is considered one hottest rising head coaches. He has been offered higher paying jobs in the past to only turn them down. Eventually he will be offered a job he can't refuse but the $1.5MM buyout clause will go a long way in hiring a new HC.

The difference between us and you, is we've seen the cycles NUMEROUS times. Y'all have never experienced success cycles. Reality at our level is a little thing called REBUILD. Granted, Boise was able to crack that code during most of the 2000's, but seems to be experiencing the reality of being a non-P5 school finally. TCU was able to do it, and was able to make it to a P5 level. I know Boise and TCU. We've played them both in recent years.

ULL is behind Louisiana Tech academically. That's what I care about most. From an athletic standpoint they've gained a lot of momentum.
