FACT- In 2013 (against arguably the easiest Div 1/FBS schedule in LA Tech's history) our football team grossly underachieved and finished with a shockingly deplorable 4-8 record. Longtime, solid Tech fans actually quit coming to Tech games to watch the underperformance.

FACT- In 2014 (against a harder schedule than 2013) our football team has performed remarkably well through it's first 3 games. If we finish the regular season with an 8-4 record there will be as much praise for the coaching staff and players as there was criticism last year.

I think most people understand this. Perhaps we should all MOVE ON & ENJOY 2014 vs continuing to relive the MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT that was 2013!

YES! End thread and let's move on. 2013 is gone and 2014 looks promising.

We have just beaten two teams that appear to have been awful and lost to a top 10 team. We actually put more points on the board agains OU than Tennessee did. One of the teams we beat just got beat down by a pretty good Ole Miss team about as bad as we beat them. I am not saying either team was great but maybe it was because of our play. They were favored. Except for the trash scores we did as well or better against NTU as Texas and Texas played UCLA pretty close.

Hopefully our first team will prevent other teams from finishing drives. If we can't stop the other team we will probably lose so techman05 will wait until we lose before he decides we aren't any good. He only has to wait two weeks until we play Auburn.

I am just saying I think/hope we can overcome adversity thrown at us by teams of equal talent. We have not seen that yet. It appears (by the small sample we have) we can find a way to come out on top. I am ready to see it. Don't worry. I am searching for a good recipe and hope to use it.

I really don't know the degree to which any of these discussions hurt/help the program. But I like to talk football, and it did get a tad ridiculous with the Holtz hate. Not that I want to hear a bunch of overly-optimistic administrative propaganda either. I do think dominant voices influence peoples' perspectives. I also believe some folks were turned off because much of the message board seemed shaped and driven by negativity. I mean, it's hard to be convinced of how bad we "suck" before we had even played a game.

Personally, I was just concerned about our program. I'm glad the sunshine plumbers were right this year and I was sad that they were wrong last year. Whatever my opinion, I want the best for Tech and I harbor no I'll-will for those who disagree with me about how to get there.

But to say everyone here (except for about 5 or 6 people) were acting like a-holes and morons last year is a true statement and I don't owe anyone an apology for that... imo.
