Let's stop acting like last year was totally on lack of talent, newbies, etc. I watched enough Tech football last year to know that the coaching was subpar. Lacking talent at key positions, yes, but there seemed to be nothing done to overcome this. Not many adjustments to speak of, players misused or not used at all, gameplans that were headscratchers (defense vs Army). I think everyone that doubted Holtz had every right to do so based on the evidence that was 2013 Tech football. This year seems to be a different story, but the jury is still out. UNT and ULL, neither of whom can throw a forward pass, aren't the measuring stick. We'll see how we fare in conference. Hopefully we sustain our momentum we have built the last two weeks.

oops-- I saw defense have 8 games giving up 24 points or less, and 1 30pt game that included pick six. I saw freshman qb playing with broken ribs and another playing like a wimp. Dixon was hurt most of yr and wide receivers were not getting open and were too small. we had 57 yrs rushing against Army. lost by 19-- Holtz kept one of our best recruiters as Defense co-ordinator and after 1 yr replaced him. I gave Holtz benefit of doubt for several reasons, still has 2 CUSA titles, several teams ranked in top 20 at various points of season, his recruiting before playing first game, a 90-72 lifetime record coming into last year and realization we got him because he did not need his usual payscale. He has the 500k coming from being fired for a few more years. We lost 2 games because our key players had turnovers -- trying so hard-effort errors. I have posted this several times but it my opinion based on what I see as facts. Understand, folks who sit around me will attest the attitude was severly test many times last year, what I said at games was not what I post, remember first time Higgins came in? 3 pt lead and he throws pick six. those were obstacles he faced-- I have always said give him 3 yrs and evaluate. We have 9 more games, CUSA tournament ( i hope) and Bowl. lets see what happenes. ALL BETS OF IF DEMONS WIN-- vegas has no line on game

being new to all this i took offense at what I perceive as Negative, after thread opened on ragun Cajun I saw what real negativity is. Even the Iowa board (Sokol thread) makes us look tame, but with a little more humour. I will continue to look for sunshine but officially not knocking other folks perception--except when they call coach stupid .... other boards the F word seems to be pretty popular when talking about players, coaches and other posters. We defintely have more class.

Some of those who have migrated to BTB didn't have thick enough skin to handle that, which is fine, BB&B is not for everyone - especially those that are thin skinned

And you are correct - we don't allow open vile profanity directed at anyone, let alone coaches or players

pretty much relegated calling no one idiot except myself . I have often said many of my posts made no sense to me either. Did open up my eyes seing other boards-- they are crazy -- enjoyed seeing some of LSU people posting on Cajun site-- siting Tech as #2 as Mcneese 3 ===

Isn't that the truth. The only problem I see is that Ruston is a very small town/community for the type comments that exists on here at times. Some of the things said on here are incredibly mean and embarrassing for the individuals they are intended and yes they get reprinted around the country. Some of you guys probably even see these folks around town. That's all. Per things that affect our nation and everyday lives of people groups I take obviously exception to naming names. I do believe in political and religious discourse on important issues , as I see it, by expressing my very biased and worthless opinions so-to-speak.

That said, I think BB&B does a ton of good and is administrated with an even hand!

Things get said on sports message boards all the time that are dramatic and often mean-spirited. That's why they call them fanatics. It's not the end of the world. As far as BBB is concerned, I can't see it having a negative impact at all. As a matter of fact, with me it's been the opposite. It keeps me connected and plugged in to the university, keeps me excited all year and waiting on the different sports seasons to get here. For those living abroad, it allows them to keep up with the university and team they've come to love. There's a level of drama involved in some of the posts, but to me that just symbolizes that whoever cares. I would rather see anger and frustration any day than complacency.

. Only the handful of BBB readers. TCU has 40,000 members to their board-- that was in ft worth paper weekend we played OU. Dawg 60-- I was in Australia for vacation-- came on daily to check on basketball games ( nit)-- I have friends who will never read BBB others who do-- winning beats negative every time-- kind of like watching ULL fans gradually leaving game. BBB posters gradually getting sunshine

Yes, this is what my problem was. You guys were acting like Colby Cameron and Ryan Higgins should produce similar results, and if they didn't, it had to be the play-calling. And then you discount that Patton and White are gone and so are 4 of Colby's linemen. Plus, the coaching staff changed and different terminology had to be learned. It was like, "We are winners here, so it must be the head coach.. fire him." It was so dumb. Let it be a learning lesson... experience, seniors, continuity, and talent are factors too... not just play-calling.

I never was pro-Holtz, I just knew last year was not his fault. He didn't "destroy our once proud program." It was a massive rebuilding job and y'all discounted that as "excuses."

What's "dumb" is the fact that you can't see the primary difference between last year's results and this years results is the COACHING!! Holtz has truly CHANGED HIS WAYS!! Big time. And that's what we wanted last year. He's just now figuring it out. On the other hand, MOST of us figured it out in game 2 or 3 of last year.

You want proof? In 2014, Holtz has literally taken the play calling responsibility AWAY from his OC, and now calls the plays for himself. And that's good. Because the play calling last year sucked donkey balls. Holtz should have done this last year, or hired a better OC in the first place. This is one of the main things we fans were complaining about. In 2013, the play calling was HORRIBLE, and WE KNEW IT!! Ultimately, even Holtz agreed with us.

Likewise, the DEFENSIVE coaching this year is 100% better than it was in 2013. Again, the season-to-date improvements are traced right back to the outstanding coaching performance of Manny Diaz. It just took Holtz a whole season down the drain to figure out what the REST OF US already knew, and were already saying.

Last year is on Holtz. He hired poor coordinators on both sides of the ball, and it burned him.
