FOX has to emphasize the truth in situations and due to the whole "sound bite" mentality of 2/3 of Americans, they have no choice but to focus their airtime on the points NOT being told by the NBCs and CNNs out there.

So! if you look JUST at their sound bites, and not understand how they fit into the larger debate, on any topic, you would understandably think FOX is nothing but a "right-wing media outlet." Some of us fully know and understand the bigger picture and see exactly what FOX brings to the table. They fill in FACTUAL gaps purposely left out by the libtard media, who is telling lies and half-truths to shore up the socialist agenda of the democrat party and their operatives. And of course, the libtards know this too, so naturally they impune FOX in an attempt to discredit them. And, the same thing can be said about Talk Radio, Rush, Hannity, etc...
My complaint doesn't concern ideology. Other than that, I have nothing to add to my previous post.

As an example, look at the Benghazi event. All you libs reading this right now, do you fully understand that obummer, hillary and all the libtard media LIED about that tragic night! And, have continued to lie about it and try to cover it up! Does that not piss you off? How can you not be upset by this? Yet....you impune FOX and continue to believe NBC, CNN, ABC, etc.....? Really??????
This rant really speaks to your underlying entitlement mentality.

The media doesn't OWE you any facts. The purpose of a media outlet is not to bring you the truth.

A media company exists exclusively to deliver profit to its shareholders. They will make whatever strategic business decisions they deem necessary to maximize their bottom line. For some that means targeting a left leaning audience. For others it means catering to the right. It's not some damn conspiracy. It's capitalism.

But CNN doesn't owe you the truth any more than McDonalds owes you a healthy lunch.

    Valid point.

However, too many American voters THINK they're getting a healthy lunch at McDonalds.

    Re: Immigration

Most on this topic seem to agree that the illegal immigrant children should stay. I disagree totally. All illegal immigrants should be deported without even a hearing. They are not US citizens so they are not afforded due process. If they are caught in the US they should be sent back to Mexico or Canada which ever point they entered. I do not care if they have been in the US 40 years they are illegal in the US.

I am disgusted by our national and state governments which are encouraging the breaking of US law. Sanctuary cities and US government releasing the children and adults in the general US population. Sure we will give them free food, housing and schooling with the US taxpayer picking up the tab.

There is a reason we have a immigration systems that allows foreigners to join our society legally. These legal immigrants benefit society. The vast majority of illegals are uneducated and will not learn the english language. Press 1 for spanish and 2 for english soon. They send the majority of their earnings to their home country. There is no benefit to having illegals in the US.

We are a country of lawless wimps. I hope our next president and congress will see the stupidity of immigration system and depot the 10 to 20 million illegals.

Okay, I gave it a few days to see if I could illicit from somebody that my response was emotional too, but nobody bit on it.

The point I wanted to make with my silly, calloused response is that posts like that get nothing accomplished. I think he first step that needs to be taken is a step back from our emotional positions and start anew.

I am curious. Mr./Ms. Collins, what did you mean by "there is no benefit." No benefit to who? I will go ahead and assume the immigrant doesn't count. Surely you will agree that Coca-Cola benefits. Who are saying doesn't benefit?

It wasn't always that way. Go back a few decades and you had journalists. They had been taught to be unbiased and give both sides of a story, and many of them attempted to do that, even though bias would inevitably creep into their reporting. Now, especially in network TV news, there is very little pretense of being unbiased. As a journalism graduate of Louisiana Tech University, I am saddened by this.

Illegals are a drain on the economy and wages. I can understand why large and small companies love illegals, low wages means higher profits. Since illegals send any money earned back to their home country, they produce no economic benefit. The Illegals are also on public assistance which raises taxes on tax payers or increases the debt.

Please explain anything positive to me what illegals bring to the US? They can't legally start a business or be employed so they get paid in cash so they don't even pay taxes. Don't give me the crap line they do jobs Americans wont. That's a lie. Companies will pay higher wages if they can't get cheap illegal labor.

Finally, go to Mexico illegally, you would be jailed not coddled and given free school, food and housing.

You maybe able to find some good illegal alien story's but for every one that makes it, there are thousands that meet my definition above.

That's why we have legal immigration and subject the applicant to learn English and hopefully join in the American experience as a american, not __________ american.

I know enough about tax law and my taxes to know I don't want to pay a single penny for a illegal alien except to deport their ass back to their own contry.

I am beginning to wonder if the press has ever been unbiased. In the early days of our republic, the press was openly partisan; e.g., Duane, Cheetham, Lieb, to name a few. Aaron Burr had his own news paper, which was ironically mild compared to the others. These so-called journalists spewed venom at their opponents to influence politics.

James Callender is an especially interesting story. Callender was Thomas Jefferson's hatchet man in the press. He was close to Jefferson, who was then Secretary of the State. Callender knew perhaps too much of the behind-the-scenes shenanigans of the Republican Party. Jefferson used Callender to attack Alexander Hamilton and John Adams, and for his efforts, Callender was convicted of violating the (now unconstitutional) Alien and Seditions Act.

When Callender got out of jail, he expected (now President) Jefferson to "take care of him." Jefferson did, but Callender thought Jefferson didn't do enough, so Callender switched sides. He started exposing some of the dirt on Jefferson, including providing proof that Jefferson had paid Callender to publish the articles that were used to send Callender to jail. Callender also wrote stories of a relationship between Jefferson and one of his slaves named Sally.

Not long afterward, Callender was found dead on the banks of the James River, having drowned in three feet of water. I'm sure it was simply an accident, and the sitting president had nothing to do with it. Regardless, I'm sure Jefferson was happy to have that menace removed.

This bias was not just in America. The London papers were doing the same thing for the parties they supported in England.

During my early life (I am 55), the media was considered to be unbiased. But, it really wasn't. Walter Cronkite was very liberal. So was Tom Brokaw. Those were the two I was familiar with growing up. But, they did make an attempt to appear neutral. "That's the way it is ..."

My theory is, conservative talk radio came on the scene and exposed the liberal media for what it was. Talk radio showed Murdoch there was a niche market ... said niche being half the country ... and exploited it. Fox News was born. From that point on, the gloves were off again, and instead of Duane, Cheetham and Callender, we now have CNN, MSNBC and Fox.
It's time to close the doors to the Temple of Janus.
