"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are -- or where you are going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's my fault."

Just heard obummer say he only learned about that Gruber fellow by seeing it on the news. How many times will he use that lame excuse?
There are records of Gruber going to the Oval Office on several occasions. Wonder who he met with, if not obummer.

I don't have a problem calling someone a liar when they lie (e.g., Obama and Pelosi on the Gruber relationship). It's the "obummer," "libtard," etc. comments that I find so childish and annoying, but I'm not the vocabulary police, so to each her own.
This has become petty. Calling someone a name rather it is dumbed down for stupid Americans or highbrow for the elitist overlords is just something that has been done, is done, and will continue to always be done. It does not make it childish. It is annoying most of the time, though. But sometimes it is required. When dealing with Obama & Co, it is absolutely warranted. It doesn't diminish any argument. Calling name-calling out does diminish the argument. If someone takes offense to the words, they are to defend themselves with more words, not cower in a corner and cry for someone to make the mean man/woman stop.
For me, it often turns an otherwise cogent argument obtuse. I find it coarse and I don't see the need for the incivility.

You're not seeing the argument as cogent if some namecalling turns it obtuse. Coarse and uncivil only if taken to far (think N).
I think the media is getting us all worked up to talk to each other this way. They are very polarizing. I had a revelation 2 days ago:
Ed Schultz invited Dana Loesch to his show to discuss Obamacare. It was 3 liberals against Dana and they were all shouting over each other and treating Dana like an idiot. The next day, Dana invited Ed Schultz to her show and it was a one-on-one discussion about the positives and negatives of Obamacare. Ed agreed with some of Dana's points and Dana agreed with some of Ed's points and they ended up agreeing that it needs to change because it's not perfect. Ed even agreed that it was Socialism. Neither were shouting, no attack panel, just an adult conversation between the 2 different views on Obamacare. We could get a lot more done in this country if we would have more adult conversations and quit attacking each other personally, imo.

AMERICA'S FORMER CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER, Todd Park, insists he knew nothing about ObamaCare website problems prior to launch, telling House Republicans investigating the botched operation that it wasn't his job to know project details and that he was ignorant of repeated warnings — including one from an underling claiming a tyrannical government official was forcing the launch, despite problems.
I bet the underling was let go due to an unbelievably convenient act of misconduct.
