I don't know man, call me crazy but I would think when you make a COMMITMENT to be in the marching band, you make a commitment to make the events. This would be like football players not showing up today because they are "on quarter break". That would be inexcusable, so why is this not?

Commitment is too strong a term for what many of the members of the BoP do.

It would be excusable for a player to miss this game, in a very strict legal sense. But no one has challenged that (yet). They would risk their spot on the depth chart if the didn't show up and no player would willingly do that. Same thing with the BoP. Unless you are absolutely astounding, you get less consideration for travel games, leadership, and extra scholarship.

Well, thats the problem. Lack of commitment and nobody caring enough to call them out on it. Should probably change the name from the Band of Pride to the Band of Eh, I'll Show Up When I Feel Like It. And like I said before, this type of BS doesn't stand at the big schools, so why the hell should it at Louisiana Tech. Oh wait, maybe this is part of the reason we are THE Tech!!!
