Diaz will be coaching somewhere else next year, and we'll be stuck with Skippy. But, w/o a stout defense we'll struggle to win 3 or 4 games in total.

I'm very disappointed we/Tech lost, but I'm not going to play the blame game although there are certainly many reasons that we didn't come away with the win today. Now it's time to get ready for a bowl game. Go Bulldogs!!!!!!

I'm having a difficult time deciding if Holtz made a bad team excel from last year to this year, and the team just reverted back in a few games. Thus this year was an overachievement.

Or was this team (with Sokol, Diaz, and Dixon) set up to be much improved, and we actually underachieved this year.

I'm pretty sure CUSA is just that shitty that we can get lured into a false sense of achievement that easily.

HD, I really feel our defense kept this game as close as it was.....Marshalls defense played when they had too. It's almost like they teased us for 3 1/2 qtrs. Until we can depend on the kicking game we'll never be able to consistently contend. Just my .02.

Marshall's DEFENSE didn't do anything. Let's be real clear about this: Sokol threw the ball STRAIGHT to the Marshall defender to essentially end the game, even with no LA Tech player around. And that followed Sokol's fumble in the RED zone on FIRST DOWN, when we had a chance to sustain a winning drive as well as run time off the clock. Marshall's defense had nothing to do with this either.

And I won't even mention the fact that Sokol couldn't hit the side of a barn in the 2nd half.

I'm telling ya, Sokol's 2nd half performance looked very suspicious to me. Maybe he's injured, or maybe it's something else. But it was not due to Marshall's defense. Sokol literally GAVE that game away.

I wouldn't be that harsh. MU has a "good" defense, better than most CUSA teams.

We are an above average football team. We're world beaters when we get up by 14+, but we aren't a good football team because we can't make a drive late in games to put a close game away. It has been for many reasons this year...fumble, play calling, and just not executing late in games. Only close game we won was UTSA, and that was because the D made a late stand. And yes, special teams is another reason we are just above average.

It hurts because we had it, and will hurt a while. We get another game, and the only positive from the academic mess is the younger guys get more practice time and another game under their belt for next year.

Certainly a lot if credit for success goes his way. So does some of the negative "credit"
