Hotel rooms with thin walls coupled with guests who come to my door at 6pm to complain about my kids walking around the room by saying, "they need I stop." After being cooped up in a car for 5 hours, I figure them WALKING around the room is a win for everyone. That guy was lucky I didn't break his jaw. Of course then I would be posting a peeve about riding in the back of a police car, so.............

If your hotel has quiet hours (this one did not) then post them. If no quiet hours, you can't make me force my kids to sit on the bed and not move all evening.
Taking team and individuals pix on a basketball league photo day. On one team I got only one order form (from a parent I know). As I'm preparing to take the team photo I notice over my shoulder the other five parents have whipped out their smart phones and start snapping away. I remarked that I hope they enjoy the new backdrop I just purchased for that day. They kept firing away. Guess I'll resort next year to the tacky, no smartphone photos allowed sign and post it at the door. Just don't feel I should have to do business that way.

Are you the official team photographer? If not, it seems like they are taking pictures just like you are. If they were doing anything wrong by taking pictures, it seems like the person that let them in the room is the person you should be peeved with.
This ain't Dawgpix first rodeo, not by a long ways, Woof. The parents were out of line...way out of line.
Put the sign up and maybe post someone at the door to keep the "helicopter" parents away, Dawgpix. It is, in fact, a private shoot and part of how you make a living.
sorry you didn't understand my full comments, woof. yes, I was official league photographer, paying them for the privilege. Was I right to be peeved?

Well, if no sign prohibiting photography was in the room and parents were let right in, it seems to me like this was set up like a first rodeo.
It's okay, t_d. Woof doesn't understand the do right rule of years past, apparently.
I've done this shoot for 15 years. In a room away from the action. Never seen a need for signs. Parents used to know they're going into a "studio."
Okay, here's my new sign:
"Buy a photo package and you can take crappy, grainy pictures with your smartphone in the room's subdued lighting."

People who refuse to stop/pull over as a funeral procession passes in the opposite lane. disrespectful and rude.
Post the sign, also make a verbal announcement. As is the case with most other things in this thread, most are too dense to look at and follow the sign.
