Yeah, that's what I meant by my wow! Such a tough business, but it has to be even tougher with golf's recent falling out of favor as a sport. Plus Dicks and Academy have a nice selection and decent prices.
None of the golfing chains made it over here around Monroe. Cajun Made has been successful, but I figure only because the owner runs it himself, knows a lot of golfers, and has fairly low overhead.
I think it had clothes and accessories mostly. Not necessarily clubs and equipment. Maybe fancy golf balls, towels. Whatever it was, it didn't last very long.
If anyone cares, 3Docs is now Pulse Nightclub.
The college students didn't go. 3docs intent was to cater to the young post-college worker who enjoyed hanging out with other adults and quality beer with variety...not college students trying to cram as many cheap beers as possible into their $20 allowance. I'm not sure the market was big enough for that kind of target. The most disappointing thing for me to hear was how hard they tried with live music with no response. People just didn't care.
It's hard to find a good gig around here these days. No one will pay the price for a full band...which typically rules me out unless I play for free...and that ain't happenin'. My price is goin' up, not down.
