    4th and 1 Play

I have watched college football all day and studied the '4th and 1' plays in particular. At least five times today a team has lined up with a TE or two behind the QB, sneaked it and the big guys have successfully pushed the QB for the first down EVERY TIME. UNT just did it and scored a TD run on the very next play to take the lead at SMU.

Why can't we figure this basic stuff out?

I agree. In that situation you want the fastest developing play possible - and the QB sneak is it.

I saw that too and it worked every time. With a big QB like we have...and some big guys helping him push....

If we're so set on running the T formation in these situations, put 2 big guys back there with KD, run a sneak with Driskel, and let them push him across. Dixon could push at least 2 D-linemen by himself.

Better yet, how about a sneak to Martin. I don't think Blake Martin has never not got at least one yard running the ball. I'm all about getting Dixon his feeds but Martin needs some carries also, it's just plain stupid not to use him more.

The more important question is when to go for it. The Giants lost to the Cowboys because of stupid decision making. Can't we get a math professor to work with the coaches so they at least have a cheat sheet on probabilities.

It depends on how well you are moving the ball and how well your defense is playing. I don't trust our OL on 4th and 1, but I don't trust our defense anymore either. So it really doesn't matter what we do.
