You need to quit slandering Dixon's name. Dixon is old school. If he can walk on the field, he wants to play.

If it was: Had Blake Martin been in instead of Dixon today I bet he would have had over 200 yards rushing and scored at least twice as many touchdowns as Dixon.

If it wasn't you who said it: strike that last remark and replace it with, I thought Dixon looked good today I'm glad he was back. I was happy to see Blake Martin carry the ball some in the 4th quarter too.
If Dixon was still gimpy today, I would give Martin a start and a game as the feature back. I have advocated his being used more for quite a while, and he has the talent and has earned the right should Dixon need some rest. Craft is a good back, but I really think Martin as the #2 would make our offense better, IMO.

    Re: Dixon

I have been critical of Craft, but have to say that 10-yd run in the 3rd qtr he had was top-notch. That play was destined to be a 2 or 3 yard gain, but he hit the hole so fast and hard that he beat the defender to the crucial spot and was gone. Then, up field it was just him and one Tech blocker vs. 4 MFSU guys, who teamed up to make the tackle. That is the kind of "right stuff" I expect to see from any RB. It has been missing from Craft this year. If that one run becomes the norm for Craft, then he'll do fine.

As for Martin, he has always had that "right stuff" and why he should be getting more touches.

Dixon hasn't been run into the ground by any means. Suffering an ankle sprain in practice isn't because of over-exertion or exposure to punishment. Dixon's gotten an appropriate number of carries for his production and is probably protected more than any star player I can remember playing for Tech. The premise of this thread is erroneous.

Moats was run into the ground and probably why he left with one year of eligibility left. Had he stayed another year, properly used, it would have been better for Tech and probably better for Moats. As I remember, we had a capable #2.

    Re: Dixon

quick atta'boy for Dixon, when the team came back after halftime Dixon was fixing to run through the two lines of scouts in the endzone. He wound up waiting till last and having them move closer together where he could high five them on both sides. I thought that was very Patton'esk and was a cool gesture on his part.

Did anyone else notice that Dixon was completely dry at the end of the game? The raindrops were too scared to hit him.

Dixon isn't beaten up. Heck, he wears pads and a helmet to protect everyone else.
