So this weekend I had the experience of going to Showcase, which is the big H.S. Marching band competition hosted by Lafayette Music at Cajunfield. Entire time was one long UL (L sic) school of music/band program ad. Thing that got me was man that stadium is bad.

Picture of their "suites" on the main concourse, yes those are basic stud wall with wood paneling on inside, and covered with a tarp/ad on the outside (no wall you can see the studs when the wind blows)

I always love the look of their Press box expansion... tin roof and lumber structure ad-hoc added onto stadium.

Finally I found out what they did with the Recruting Zone trailers, moved them to an empty lot and now the "Red Zone" fan store on 1805 Johnston St, Lafayette, LA 70503 (please note this is no where near Cajun Field, or Earl K Long, or Cajun Dome...)

Did you get a chance to go inside the new 100k sq ft recruiting trailer? You are correct our stadium was built in 1971 and can use major upgrades, which are coming in the next couple of years. The ironic thing is you are talking bad about the stadium in Lafayette as if yours is better. You ever hear of the pot calling the kettle black. The Joe is a dump as much as Cajun field is a dump. When it is up graded the luxury suites will be from goal line to goal line not in the end zone.

Yes our's doesn't have wooden frame/tin roof lean-to's built in it for fans/media, I LOL'ed watching the end of the ESPN3 ULL/ULM game when they showed the media guys in those jumped up duck blinds.

Again WHEN will that upgrade happen?

Quality over quantity, Dumb4ss! Just cause there are million rats running through the sewers doesn't mean you should cover yourself with crap.

We chose to leave the UL twins in that crappy conference and go indy, we sacrificed, we fought the fight, we wandered through the wilderness, we've arrived at C-USA.

We've separated and we're thriving!

Ragin’ Cajun coach Mark Hudspeth, only minutes after his team was force-fed a 35-14 humbling at the hands of an Akron team that may not break even in the Mid-American Conference, essentially locked the doors of the 100,000-square-foot facility for everybody’s protection.

“While we’re working all week long, there’s 97 tours going through here,” an obviously frustrated Hudspeth said in post-game interviews. “It’s like the Grand Canyon. You’ve got tour guides leading people to see everything, and we can’t work. Every time you look up, there’s 19 people walking down our hallway. So I’m gonna fix that this week. Tours are over. Yep the city of Lafayette and State of Louisiana have done a great job building, operating, and maintaining the Cajun Dome. ULLs lucky to have permission to use it from the Cajun Dome Committee.
