It was a bad, ugly performance by a young team that was let down by their Seniors.
But having an ugly game in Basketball is like having an ugly quarter in football.
The season isn't over.

Is it just me or is McCree a terrible ball handler? Like horrendous.

I think the two seniors sitting early caused us to not be able to get going early, but not sure it would have mattered. I'm sure the guys were late to a meeting or something of that nature. It's important for a coach to teach discipline. I have no problem with them sitting in the early going of that game. The guys would not care if they sit against directional lsu, Memphis meant more to them and got the point across better.

Whether they start or not we were never in the game. No inside presence, poor shooting and very poor ball movement. Memphis' D just shut us down and Memphis was equally as good offensively. Our drive to the basket offense looked pretty pathetic. I do think there was too much 1:1 offensive basketball and not enough team offense. We were also dominated on the boards. Add all that up and it = a butt whoopin. We will get better from it.

We need a guy that can post, catch, and score from the low block. Until we get a post that can play with his back to the basket, we're going to be too dependent upon 3's falling or Alex's drive.
Have you considered those Dogs?

Bad matchup for us. As we have said, any team with a legit big is going to be tough for us. The real problem was that we played them on a night hat they started knocking down shots. Can't double team the big if he can kick it out for an open look that they are hitting. We had an off night when they hit everything. Lots of ball to play.
Clearly the football team and basketball team spent a lot of time together this pass week since they both opened a big old barrel of suck!![]()
Poor ball movement was a big problem. Too many LA Tech players trying to dribble the basketball again. We very rarely PASSED THE BALL around the perimeter against Memphis, and we certainly didn't do it consistently or quickly. That's it's. We played "yard ball" instead of basketball.
Oh well.....it's still December. EARLY December.

Thing is, they don't have to been real big to do post moves. The refs won't allow a defender to push you off the block with his forearm. I just want to see a guy post up and call for the dang ball. It doesn't even have to be on the low block. Need a turn-around jumper, a dribble drive, a ball fake, etc.,... We have to be able to score and pass out of the post. Otherwise, we're going to either be shooting 3's or making our ball-handlers dribble through 8 people to get it blocked at the rim.
