I hope Wudtee isn't a potential target if TAMU goes after 2 QBs
Read somewhere that Murray's family is pushing him to go Juco and play baseball. He is a projected first round pick. Hard to argue with all the guaranteed money in baseball.
Sumlin will get one more year. A&M thought they were going to dominate in the sec, but, if they were still in the Big 12, they would be losing to Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma, and OSU. Maybe they should try to get in the AAC.![]()
I don't know anyone including any A&M fans, coaches or media that thought they were going to dominate in the SEC. Every A&M fan I knew thought it would be tough sledding from the get go. They were all worried about the move. They all hoped though that moving to the SEC would improve their recruiting to the point that they would quickly improve their football program overall and elevate it past Baylor and Texas. Now after Manziel burst onto the scene some Aggies got a little cocky but when the move was announced they were very cautious about how they would compete.
The reason that they left was because they thought they would get their pick of recruits in Texas because they moved to the sec, but, they're having to recruit out of state kids because they're getting beat by Baylor and TCU along with Ok and Texas for Texas kids. Something is wrong when your first and second QBs transfer.
Bullshit. The recruiting rankings don't backup what you are saying. They've been beating UT and kicking TCU's ass in recruiting. They've been beating Baylor in recruiting and probably have been even with OU. Getting the kids hasn't been the issue. Keeping them? That's a different story entirely. Bottom line is since they moved to the SEC their recruiting HAS improved.
Just checked: Last year Rivals had A&M at 10. Texas was 12 but without the stud QB's they were chasing. OU was 14. TCU was 34 and Baylor was 43.
I usually agree with about 99% of your posts, but I certainly don't agree with this. TX A&M may be kicking UT's ass in recruiting, but certainly not TCU and Baylor. Both TCU and Baylor are on fire in recruiting.....in fact, recruiting has never been better for either. I do agree that A&M loses too many players, including 3 starting QB's in the last year.
In 2014 A&M was 6. OU 15, Texas 20. Baylor 35 and TCU 50. Baylor and TCU have excellent coaches who have done a great job coaching these kids up and no doubt Baylor, Texas, OU and TCU have brought in some talent bit they have been leading the state and OU in recruiting since they announced the move to the SEC.
TCU is making a living off Louisiana guys. They are beating out Tech and other G5s for them not Big12 teams.
Baylor and TCU are getting good classes. No doubt. Also I think Briles and Patterson are better coaches so they are getting more out of those kids, but every year A&M is above them in the rankings. And I'm definitely not an Aggie fan. I do have a little bit of a soft spot for TCU and sometimes Baylor because I live on TCU's side of town and I like seeing the turnaround Baylor and TCU managed to pull off.
I went to a Thursday night TCU game this year. Lots of names sounded familiar MD. And some of the names being called I'm fairly certain we were not only in on but maybe even had verbals from at one point. The kid on the DL Lathan?? Didn't we almost land him? I can't remember the name but I think they landed a very good WR we were close to getting too. Makes me sick thinking about where we'd be right now.
