If I'm one of Wudtee's "advisors", I tell him to stay committed to LA Tech. Why? Because there's much more risk for Wudtee associated with committing to OSU than to LA Tech. Here's why:
Let's begin with the obvious fact that there can only be one starting QB on any school's football team. So if a school gets lucky and signs 3 GREAT QB's, that mean's two of them will be sidelined and out of the business very soon. No great stats, no great memories and no NFL prospects. History is full of All-World QB's who signed with big schools and were never heard from again. It happens all the time at places like LSU, TX A&M, TX Tech, TX, OSU, etc...
Look at TX A&M......they've had 3 different starting QB's transfer out in the last year. Oh sure, one or two of them may land somewhere else and finish with a decent college career. But the odds of them making it to the NFL are against them now. And I'll bet every one of them thought they would one day play in the NFL. Does Wudtee want to end up in this situation?
Baker Mayfield couldn't make it at TX Tech, so he transferred to OU and became a star. He's one of the guys who will make it. Meanwhile, the guy Mayfield replaced at OU, Trevor Knight, --who coincidentally was MVP from OU's last Sugar Bowl win -- is now riding the pine watching his career go to waste. I'm sure Wudtee doesn't want to be the next Trevor Knight.
There are obviously many more examples too. And so it goes.
No, Wudtee will be much better off signing with LA Tech, and setting passing records in CUSA. It's less risky for him, and offers him just as good a chance to get to the NFL. LA Tech has a long history of sending good QB's to the NFL (Slaughter, Bradshaw, Rattay, McCown, Driskel, etc...). Wudtee will arrive in Ruston knowing he is THE MAN, and that it's his job to lose. And he'll know he's much less likely to be replaced by the next hot shot QB that comes thru the door, because fewer hot shot QB's come thru the door in Ruston. At LA Tech, Wudtee doesn't have to worry about being the next "Trevor Knight".

Well said, HD.....Bradshaw says the same thing all the time!! You and he are both correct! Look at a player that goes to a big school like LSU, Bama, etc. They ride the pine until their junior or senior year...then get hurt. They don't get much playing time after that and their NFL possibilities go down the drain!!
Driskle needs to be on the phone with Wudtee and tell him like it is.
Dixon towards the end of the process was offered by Ole Miss, LSU and Arkansas. He stuck with his commitment to Louisiana Tech and NFL scouts now have him behind only Henry from Bama and Elliot from Ohio St. Let's say he switched to LSU. Any guarantee he starts or doesn't split time with Fournette?? None. Now he's going into the draft with more TD's than anyone in the history of major college football among numerous other NCAA records including breaking Marshall Faulks freshman records which he likely wouldn't have touched had he gone to any of those SEC schools. If Wudtee has any sense he sticks with Tech and actually improves his chances at playing on Sundays.
Damn! Now I have to go next door and slap around the liberal pinko Oky State guy who owns that house. It makes me feel bad since he truly is a scum sucking died in the heart liberal but not only that he has the worst decision processes I have ever seen. I guess they don't teach critical thinking at Oky State. See Wudtee, you don't want to go to school in such a place. It will ruin you brains and you will be disadvantaged when NFL draft time comes around.

I'm sure they are teling Wudtee what he wants to hear, but think they would use him as a QB?
Dont forget the risk of getting your eye put out by one of Gundy's porcupine spikes.
FWIW, according to what I saw on Twitter yesterday, Wudtee has visits planned to Okie State, TCU, and Tech next month. We're supposed to be the final one of the three.
Our sources are saying Wudtee has decommitted from LTU. FWIW...this source has a bit of a history of jumping the shark.
However, now that TCU has lost their top QB commit, and are showing an interest in Wudtee, I think it's pretty safe to say he'll be moving on. Unfortunately for us, I think TCU will have the inside track, given that their path to the starting position is clearer with Trevone Boykin graduating. Our starter, Mason Rudolph, is pretty much set for two more seasons, unless he's injured or goes pro after next season.
I'm imagining TCU will be selling Boykin's similarity to Boykin, as their key arrow in their quiver.
My guess is he'll never make it to his OV at Tech.
Tech's not out because of the long relationship with the staff. We've been recruiting him for a couple of years. It's a shame all the time and effort can be wasted so quickly. Especially since the reason is that he "fell" to the teams who lost the guy's they wanted.
I'm not saying Tech is completely out of the running. However, I thinks it's far more probable that he takes one of the P5 offers, especially after he tours the P5 facilities.
If it is proven true that Wuptee has decommited, then you drop to about a ten percent likelihood that he'll ever play in your program. If a kid is curious and just wants to feel out the offers, more often than not, they will maintain their commitment and just go on the OVs. That way, there's no chance that Tech would give away his scholarship to another prospect. By decommitting, Wuptee would be honoring your two year relationship, by signalling that he is leaving for sure, and that you can immediately begin the search for a new prospect.
Using your logic, I guess you'll have to convince some kid to "fall" into La Tech, having lost the guy you really want.
