You guys don't think our staff is attempting to flip players?

It's the job of our coaching staff to sell LaTech to recruits (and they are well-compensated for it). All of the other schools attempt to do the same.

The wisest of men once said "it ain't over til its over"... few years ago on the signing day meeting at Ruston library they had to print new handouts, we lost 2 guys ( think from Monroe area)-- think to Arkansas State- media director deleted the 2 and added 2 new recruits. Point is they did not miss a beat signing 2 new players before the meeting began. My attitude is enjoy reading speculation but assume nothing counts til signing day. By the way, if you can make the Signing day event, its a blast and full of die hard Bulldogs. Some of us remember when it was held at The Tonk

You're missing the point. Nobody ever said that we aren't attempting to "flip players". That's business. The point was, the players should never say "I commit to ......" in the first place if they are leaving themselves open to additional recruiting.

Not Woodtee. He knew he was going to get other offers.

Rhythm mention some QBs getting flipped. I won't argue that, but please give some examples of commitments we've backed off on who we told early we had a spot for (other than grades). It is common for the big boys, but I don't know of any we have done it to locally and we have a pretty good recruiting base here in NE La..

I'm talking about players who were "committed" to other schools (mostly of lesser prestige) that we offered and they ended up coming to Tech.

No he didn't. He was on their radar, but not their primary target. If those schools would have landed their targets, he would not have been offered and would have had a place to play at La Tech.

That's all part of the business. It's a sales job. Coaches try to retain their commitments (while they are being enticed by other suitors). We also attempt to break up commitments and draw players to Tech.

The above assumption is that only Oklahoma State or TCU were considering him. He would have gotten offers from a number of P5 schools. Again, he knew he would get other offers so his "commitment" was not about reserving spot from LaTech. It was about being able to tweet some bogus crap on twitter.

You are talking about recruits. I'm talking about true commitments. Woodtee never was committed. Being commonplace does not change the definition of a word.

I don't understand this. How did he know this when it didn't happen?

It did happen. He knew it would because he was told that. It's very likely LaTech told him that he would.

If they told him they were going to offer, then he still did the right thing, imo. It's not an offer until they send the LOI. He's smarter than our former AD.

Calling this as BS!! He specifically stated he was going to finish Parkway in December, enroll at Tech and be ready for spring. He talked about how his friends, family could watch him at Tech. It was front page of Times sports ( as was the decommitt) Parkway coach did interview for Times and backed his decision . He talked with Fletch on his show about the commit. I do not know what you mean by "never commit"-- I expected during season that his stock was going up and the "big lights" would get him. When he did not graduate in December I knew it was over. He was on our Rivals Commit page for a long time.. see if you can get Rivals to change their definition of Committ
