Rubio came in as a Tea Party guy... beat the Democrat in Florida who was disguising himself as a Republican, who later just switched to the Democrat party. He's a Reagan conservative. The only reason I like Cruz better is because Cruz defeated Rubio's amnesty bill. Rubio says he's changed his mind on amnesty now, but I don't trust him as much as I trust Cruz. But he's not a RINO.
All Cruz has done is grandstand and stall bills in the senate. He hasn't done anything for the state of Texas except appear on Fox News to promote his presidential bid and there is a reason he is the most unlike among his colleagues. All this anti-establishment stuff is funny, Cruz is a privileged Ivy league school elitist, while Rubio is a son of bartender and maid and just paid off his student loans.Originally Posted by T1

This is a pretty good summary.
If I understand it correctly, Cruz's amendment to the Gang of 8 Bill was intended to "legalize" illegals (so they could be here legally, come out of the shadows, and become taxpayers), but they could not become US citizens (have the rights of US citizens). He wanted to expose the Democrats' agenda of just trying to get more Democrat voters. When he took citizenship off the table, the Democrats (and Rubio) said , "screw that!" So he did expose that the Democrats just want the voters.
Utter stupidity. This guy insinuates that Trump is a conservative...so he has no credibility is saying who is or is not conservative. Rubio is a conservative. His opponents want to paint him as establishment because they want to beat him.
If Rubio can further conservative causes with the same effectiveness that Obama furthered liberal causes, I'll be just fine with him.

He can't. He will be too busy providing amnesty for those that are already here and opening the country up to they Syrian refugees. He is the establishment- they are pushing hard for him because he does represent them.
Ted Cruz proposed decriminalization...which, by every logical definition, is amnesty. Don't tell me he's the great conservative savior and Rubio's a RINO. The differences in their immigration positions are not insignificant, but calling Rubio an "open border" candidate is just plain wrong...unless you're willing to call Cruz the same thing.
As far as the Syrian refugees...since when is denying refugees a conservative position? You can disagree with him, but that doesn't make him a RINO or establishment guy.

Over and over Rubio has talked about his family and how he wants that for others. I do disagree because he is the establishment guy.
I don't even think Trump knows what he is- he kind of changes as he goes along and tweets insults if he is called on it. I certainly don't support him, but was rather shocked when he started talking about insurance this week.
