I read on one of the LaTech pay sites that you can't name a public "anything" after a person unless it is posthumously. Birt and Terry are still alive. The same site said vote for Bernie!

i think it mainly applies to buildings. Supposedly Keeny Hall was renamed after some scandle involving the living person it was first named after. Also the TAC was named for the father of the major donor.

I was told Keeny Hall used to have a name associated with German ancestry so they changed it during one of the world wars. Not sure if true.

After the scandals of the 30s the change was made that state buildings could not be named for living individual.

Shreveport named a certain section of Hwy 3132 Terry Bradshaw Passway. If it can be done to a major expressway why cant it be done in Ruston? Would that offend all the LSU hacks at Ruston CC?

Naming streets is a local matter. Terry Bradshaw Avenue is a great concept.

I actually discussed this with Hollinsworth about 3 years ago and got positive feedback, but we see nothing happened! I feel that Ronny is a doer and loves Tech so I'm in hopes that he will actually try!!!! Maybe Dr Guice will get behind it!

We should also look at a bronze statue of TB just outside the DAC!!!! HD and I saw some of their football greats at OU outside their stadium on one of our Harley trips! They can't be that expensive, the Sooners have about 8 or 9 of them!
