Actually it is important to win the regular season for NIT autobid but you are absolutely correct on your statement.
the loss to ODU at home hurt our season and momentum.

Tech won. 3 of the 4 top C-USA top teams won. In the only top 4 loss, it was UTEP over Marshall 112 to 108 in El Paso.

We are now 2.5 games behind conference leader UAB. They only have 1 loss, Middle Tennessee has 2 losses. We are still in 4th place, but now both Marshall and us have 3 losses. We have played one less game than Marshall.

There were quite a few Tech fans at tonight's game.

17-5 is nothing to sneeze at in basically a rebuilding year. Recovered to shoot the ball decent in all aspects of the game. The only glaring issue was the 17 turnovers.

It doesn't help when the conference itself doesn't value the importance of the regular season. After last year's conference tournament the CUSA website had a full page promo congratulating UAB as the 2015 conference champions.
