Rubio will be the most conservative nominee since Reagan. The only reason he is becoming the "establishment" candidate is that he is kicking all of the establishment preferences to the curb. I guarantee the "establishment" prefer Bush, Christie and Kasich over Rubio. He will quickly become the lesser of 3 evils to the more moderate elements, but that doesn't mean that is who they wanted.

Why would you think they would support Kasich?

I expect him to drop out after NH.

I don't think they will now, but the preference of many so called establishment folks would have been for Kasich up until recently.

Yep, the same people who pushed McCain and Romney on us.

    Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign

Sanders has erased Hillary's huge lead in the national polls. Well, according to the Quinnipac poll. It might just be an anomaly. I think the number of people surveyed was 874. But, all the polls use such techniques and numbers to make a generalize statement of where the candidates are. I like the Real Clear numbers, which is a polling firm that mixes its own results with that of other polls and gets an overall average.

According to the Quinnipac poll Hillary's lead is down to 44-42% over Sanders, and of course, that is within the margin of error of +/- 4%. That same poll had Hillary ahead 67-25% back in December. It'll be interesting to see what other polls say, especially the Real Clear averages. I suspect Hillary's lead, nationally, is shrinking.

As I have already posted, the deck is stacked against the Repub nominee in the general election. Because of the Electoral College, and the winner-take-all in most states, all the 'crap nominee needs to do is win a couple of "battleground" states, which is usually Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, and another 1 or 2 states.

Now, in keeping with truth in posting, which all I ever do is post the absolute truth, we must remember that GWB won the WH in 2000 over algore because of the EC. Gore won the popular vote that year. It all came down to some guys in Florida named Chad, who were hanging around or something...

The 'craps, to their credit, because they excel at playing the game of "politics," took steps to rectify that situation after 2000. It culminated with the 2010 census which was badly rigged to change the population count in key states. Louisiana's population actually went up between 2000 and 2010, yet we showed a net loss, and as result lost one Congressional seat and one delegate to the EC. That happened all across the nation. California surged, as did New York and several other "blue" states, increasing the number of EC delegates the 'crap nominee would win in the general election. It was enough of a change....illegally done...to eliminate the concern over several small states which are also considered "battleground" states.

The general election for POTUS is one the 'craps have to lose, because no way can any Repub ever win it based solely on merit.

    Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign

Tough night for Rubio last night in the NH debate. Christy was his usual bullying self and rattled Rubio. Both Rubio and Trump were booed at times by the stacked audience of Repub Party establishment donors. If his campaign-handlers are smart Rubio can parlay his treatment as evidence that he is not part of the good-ole-boy DC establishment. That will play well across the nation in future primaries.

Meanwhile the mild-mannered Ben Carson was mostly over-looked. I can't recall a single question aimed at Carson by the libtard ABC panel. In fact, Carson was skipped a couple of times and not even allowed to comment on a topic. A point Carson made when he did finally get a chance to speak.

Hopefully the field will narrow after NH, and then SC's results should shed the rest of the pretenders.

Rubio was horrible and probably "outdid" his Republican response speech.

Yep. He seemed as lost as someone up there stupidly chanting "change, change, change" and referring to the 57 united states of america.

Based on someone who did, it shouldn't matter much with his electability.

Heck, Clinton may get her party's nod while in prison.

It is a good thing she has an orange pants suit. All they will have to do is print "LIAR 001" on the back!!
