I was listening to a (long) podcast about that. Very recently, he said that he is "pro-life" but would allow women to choose to get abortions. Which means he's not pro-life. I can link that podcast but it's long and discusses a lot of unrelated topics.

I'm also curious what those other areas PP does a "good job at" are.

I can believe I am having to writing this. Trump is a northeast conservative, not a southern conservative in the mold of Cruz. He will get more votes from Dems and Independents than any other candidate on the R side. You older guys should know this. He is a nationalist and semi protectionist candidate which is what America needs right now. We don't have open borders, we have no borders and anyone can just walk on in to the USA. We have terrible trade agreements (NAFTA is the worst) and TPP. HB1 visas are taking 1MM jobs a year from US citizens because they are cheaper to hire here in the USA.

He is a leader and people will follow a leader even if they don't agree 100% or even 60% of what he is trying to do. I wonder if the Republican congress will give in to President Trump like they did Obama. It will be nice to see the congress get a backbone against anything crazy Trump proposes. They sure the hell didn't for Obama.

All of you people bashing Trump need to realize that the republican party is over and there are not enough real conservatives to beat the Dems give you everything for free mantra. Social issues we lost and fiscal issues we are losing. The only way to right the ship is to burn it down and start over.

Trump will be the reset button and the Republicans will consist of nationalists, conservatives and some moderates but at least the moderates wont be running the show.

Okay, but he won't tear down the Republican Party and rebuild it with Reagan conservatism or a return to constitutional principles. Among my concerns for Trump has been my worry he would alienate enough people in the middle that Hillary would win. But I'm rethinking that as a couple of staunch Democrats have recently told me they'd take Trump over Hillary any day of the week. Surprised me greatly.

Anyone, and I do mean ANYONE, but Hillary. I absolutely cannot stand the woman. I'm no Trump fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd happily vote for him if it was between him and that she-devil.

Here's the deal. The only chance to beat Trump is for Rubio to drop out, according to new hypothetical polling:

I am not talking about wages but taxes. Since HB1 visa employees don't pay into social security or medicare, the employer doesn't have to match the additional taxes. It is 7% cheaper to hire a HB1 visa employee than US citizen. Got to love the idiots in congress.

The H-1B visa holder is subject to withholding of Social Security (FICA) tax as well as federal and state income taxes. H-1B visa holders are taxed as “resident aliens”, on their worldwide income and may claim deductions for family members.

Yes, there are exemptions FICA and Medicare for foreign HB1 visa. This is straight out of the IRS website. So yes, American citizens cost more to hire than a person from any country below:

When I went to the Holocaust Museum recently, I found myself trying to fathom how a powerful, intellectual, cultural Western power could possibly allow the Holocaust to take place. I feel like am seeing a similar narrative unfold, and I sure hope we don't allow it to unfold the way the Germans did. Nationalism, racism, the perceived weakening of a powerful nation, someone that knows how to work the media, someone who has no appreciation for checks and balances.... Scary times.

While I don't disagree and these are important lessons to learn, I think Trump is more immediately comparable to FDR.

It's not racism to want to have immagration laws enforced. There is nothing wrong with being a nationalist as opposed to a globalist. I can't stand when people equate enforce of laws as racism. There is no correlation between what is going on now and what happened in the 1930s. Candidates are not proposing to execute illegals just make them go home.
